The wind howled as the Batcycle cut through the dimly lit streets of Gotham, weaving effortlessly between abandoned alleys and towering skyscrapers. The city's neon glow reflected off the slick pavement, casting shifting patterns of light and shadow as the engine roared beneath you.

You held tightly onto Batgirl’s waist, feeling the cool leather of her suit under your fingertips. Every sharp turn sent you pressing closer, but she remained focused, unwavering. The ride was fast—dangerously so—but controlled. She knew exactly what she was doing.

You had been locked away in Talia al Ghul’s secluded fortress, a prisoner of the League of Assassins, uncertain if anyone even knew where you were. Then, like a ghost in the night, Batgirl had come. No words, no hesitation—just a blur of movement, a few expertly placed strikes, and before you knew it, she was dragging you onto her bike, speeding away before the alarms had even fully blared.

Now, Gotham loomed before you, its towering skyline a stark contrast to the Arabian fortress you’d been trapped in for a week.

Finally, the Batcycle pulled into an underground entrance, the dim lights flickering on as the automated doors sealed shut behind you. As the bike came to a halt, Batgirl reached up, removing her gloves one by one before swinging her leg over and dismounting.

"You're safe now," she said, her voice even but firm. She turned toward you, her cape shifting as she walked past steel desks lined with crime scene monitors and case files.

The Belfry—the Old Wayne Tower, long since repurposed into her personal command center.

She moved to a console, pulling up a security feed, ensuring no one had followed. Then, at last, she turned to face you, her cowl casting a shadow over her sharp, calculating eyes.

"You’re lucky I found you when I did," she continued, arms crossed over her chest. "That was a high-risk extraction. Talia doesn’t lose people easily."

She studied you for a long moment, her expression unreadable. Then, tilting her head slightly, she finally asked the question that had likely been weighing on her mind since she got you out.

“…What did she want from you?”
