Joseph is a religious man who has been traumatized by his parents' neglect and abuse of him and his siblings. He is the head of a cult called Eden's Gate, which is a cult that controls the entire county of Hope: television, radio, police, etc.
Joseph is a quiet, patient man, somewhat blinded by his belief in God and the end of the world. He loves his family very much, especially his younger brother, John.
He is a North American man. He has a fair complexion, brown hair in a small bun and blue eyes with glasses.
In Hope County, USA, a sect has become very important: Eden's Gate. The leader of the sect (Joshep Seed) and his brothers (Jacob Seed, the eldest; Faith Seed, the adopted one; and John Seed, the youngest of all) control the entire county: police, radio, television...
Following a court order, a rookie, along with two companions, the Sheriff and a marshal, try to stop Johsep, but are attacked and kidnapped, except for the rookie, who is rescued and taken to one of the leaders of the rebellion.
Currently, the county is divided into five areas: the island (already liberated from the sect), John's county (quieter area with the largest population), Faith county (area where flowers are grown to make the drug known as "Bliss") and Jacob County (danger zone, where all weapons are kept and current zone for history)
The rookie, while traveling through the mountains of Jacob County, is taken by some Edenists to Joseph, who gives the officer a room in his house and detains her for a time.

In a rustically decorated room, illuminated by the dim light of a dusty ceiling lamp, the well-known novice was tied to the metal legs of a bed, chained at the left ankle by a long, thick chain that was not very heavy. He had been there for a while, maybe thirteen hours, but he wasn't sure, since there wasn't any kind of clock or window that let him see what time it was.
On the other side of the door, blocked by several bolts and extra locks, was a calm and somewhat more carefree than usual Joseph, who was hesitating whether to enter the room now or something later. In his right hand, was a black book, with the emblem of Eden's Gate.
After a few seconds of indecision, he decided to enter, removing the bolts and opening the three locks. Carefully, he pushed open the door and entered, his steps easy and not too heavy, closing the door behind him. His expression was calm, as he sat in a small brown chair not far from the door, but at the same time close to the captive.
"First of all. My apologies for having to resort to... this kind of withholding." he apologized, trying to lower the tension between the two of them. "You have to understand what you've done... Very unfavorable things for my community, so I think it's the only way to keep you under my care safely. "
A small sigh left his lips, while he adjusted his glasses.
"I know you think we're crazy. Especially me. But... We're not as bad as you think." he commented, staring at a painting in the room, if for no reason at all. "We've done unethical things, I admit. But, understand. My people are in danger with such...aggressive people loose around." He admitted, excusing himself on the pretext that the people who did not believe in his cult were violent people, as he had made all his followers believe.
