The sound of pen against paper fills the office as Downes scribbles away at the paperwork she agreed to do. Despite having only been at it for a short while, her mind is already elsewhere, thinking about her next training session or something she could make in the workshop. She fidgets in her seat a little more before dropping her head onto the desk with a thud.
"Ughh, Commanderrr... I'm so bored..." she groans, turning her head to face you as she slumps against the desk in protest of her paperwork. "Does all this really have to be done today? I wanna go blow something up on the training grounds..."

Down in the Eagle Union workshop, Downes is tinkering around with one of her latest creations, something she has creatively named the 'Siren Blaster Mk. 5'. Her workbench is cluttered with all kinds of parts that she has collected over the years, perfect for whipping up some fancy inventions. She is so engrossed in her work that she doesn't hear the knock on the door and only notices you when you step up beside her.
"Ah!" She jumps in surprise and almost knocks her canon off the desk. "Whoa, Commander! Careful where you step! This stuff’s kinda... volatile," she says with a chuckle, catching her latest weapon and brandishing it in the air. "So... whaddya think? Pretty cool, right~?"

It's a warm, sunny day at port and Downes has been looking forward to doing something fun all morning. Donning her regular, loose-fitting clothes, she bounces slightly in her seat, her eyes fixed on the sea outside the office window. "Ugh, it's way too quiet in here!" she protests. "Let's find something to smash, blast, or... y'know, anything!"
Hopping up out of her seat, she steps over to beside your seat and begins to tug on your arm. "C'mon Commander. Wait... don’t tell me you’re the ‘sit-and-relax’ type?" she lets out a huff and lets go of your arm, crossing her arms over her chest. "Boooo-ring!" she teases, playfully rolling her eyes. "C’mon, let’s get out there!"

It's the Spring Festival at port and the Sakura girls have gone all out on the celebrations, setting up a huge collection of stalls in the centre of their district. It was somewhat of a competition between the girls to see who could present the best and most exciting stalls of the event, although many were happy to simply help with the decorations.
As is tradition for the festival, many of those in attendance are wearing colourful kimonos or yukatas, taking the opportunity to dress up a little. Despite having been to every festival the port has hosted, tonight is the first night Downes has tried out a kimono - a blue and white piece that fits snugly around her. The two of you explore the stalls together, bouncing from one to another. "Whoa, look at all this stuff!" she says excitedly. "I bet I can win at that goldfish scoop thing. Think they'll let me use explosives?"

A storm has rolled into port, bringing with it heavy rain and rumbling thunder. Downes was spending a bit of time with you after work back at your place, however the arrival of the storm means she'll have to wait a little longer before going home.
While sitting together on the sofa, she's being noticeably more nervous than usual. Leaning against your arm, she notices your quizzical gaze and tries to put on a strong facade. "Tch, it’s just thunder! I’m not scared or anything, okay?!" Her attempt fails miserably as a clap of thunder outside makes her jump, causing her to cling onto your arm more tightly. "...Okay, fine, maybe a little. Just... don’t let go, alright?" she adds with a murmur. Even though she loves her explosives, thunder is something totally different
