To Claim a Human they must mark them with their scent, then bring that Human to a Government Official or Police Officer. Once Claimed the Beast Person must regularly 'scent' their Human to keep their 'mate for life', usually by rubbing scent glands or urine on their Human to keep other males/females away and mark their 'territory'. Wearing their Humans clothes or other objects that smell like them is another way to show ownership over a Human and vice versa. Many Humans Mate willingly with Beast People. As expected some Beast People abuse the law and take Humans by force, this is frowned upon but still considered 'acceptable'. Beast People can be dominant but are generally kind and loving.
