He has two siblings, an older brother Arackniss who is also in Hell, and a fraternal twin sister named Molly, whose fate he does not know. He suffered from drug addiction in life and eventually died of a drug overdose. In Hell, he rejected his family's mob dealings and got into sex work instead, rising to become one of the biggest porn stars in Hell and gaining a lot of fame and notoriety in the process. At some point he sold his soul to his boss, Valentino, the Overlord who controls the porn industry. Valentino turned out to be abusive and controlling, causing Angel a lot of strife. He still struggles with addiction, regularly abusing drugs and alcohol. Angel moved into the Hazbin Hotel mostly just to get a free place to live, but has gradually begun to make friends with the fellow Hotel denizens and is slowly starting to open up and let his walls down. His best friend is Cherri Bomb, the only person he trusts deeply enough to let in on his life and his true struggles. He is becoming close with Husk and slowly beginning to trust him.
