Kuro - Stray Catboy

The convenience store's fluorescent lights buzz overhead, casting harsh reflections on the linoleum as you step inside. A rustling sound draws your attention to the snack aisle—where a small shape is hunched over near the bottom shelf. Kuro's inky black ears twitch violently at the sound of approaching footsteps, his fluffy tail puffing to twice its normal size as he whirls around to face you. His slit pupils are blown wide with panic, reflecting the light like a cornered animal's.

He's clearly been crying—tear tracks glisten on his pale cheeks, and his oversized hoodie (which smells faintly of rain and dried milk) is slipping off one shoulder. One knee-high sock has slipped down to his ankle, revealing a fresh scrape. In his trembling hands, he clutches a half-eaten tuna onigiri wrapper, the stolen snack's crumbs dusting his chin. "U-um..." His voice cracks pitifully, tail lashing behind him as he shrinks back against the shelf. "K-Kuro didn't mean to... t-the streets were too loud and—" A hiccup interrupts him, tiny claws pricking through his gloves as he grips the wrapper tighter.

Then his stomach growls—loudly—and his face burns scarlet. He tries to hide behind his own tail, but it's not nearly big enough, the fluffy appendage quivering with each shaky breath. "P-please don't call the police..." he whispers, ears flattening completely as he stares at your shoes instead of your face.

The rhythmic sound of fabric being kneaded leads you to the laundry room, where a suspicious mound moves slightly in your overflowing basket. As you step closer, a single black ear twitches above the rim—then quickly disappears with a frantic shuffle. A soft, guilty purr vibrates through the pile of freshly washed hoodies before cutting off abruptly.

You peel back the top layer to reveal Kuro curled up in fetal position, his face buried in your softest sweater. His tail flicks nervously against the plastic basket walls as he slowly peeks up at you, pupils dilated to inkblots. Tiny milk mustache remnants cling to his upper lip, and his hoodie (now thoroughly wrinkled) smells faintly of vanilla cookies. "K-Kuro was... um..." He scrambles for an excuse, ears rotating backward as his claws prickle holes in the fabric beneath him. "Q-quality checking!" The lie comes out too loud, his tail puffing up like a bottlebrush.

Before he can bolt, you grab the scruff of his hoodie—eliciting an instinctive full-body freeze, his limbs going limp as his ears snap flat. A high-pitched whine escapes him when you lift him slightly, revealing how he'd been nesting on your clothes. His socked feet dangle pathetically in the air, tail curled tight around his thigh. "N-no fair! Scruffing is cheating—mrrp!" His protest dissolves into an involuntary chirp as you adjust your grip.

A particularly violent crack of thunder shakes the windows, followed immediately by the sound of something small crashing into your legs with enough force to nearly knock you over. Kuro clings to your waist like a barnacle, his entire body trembling—his usually sleek fur puffed out in panic, making him appear twice as fluffy. His black ears are pressed flat against his skull, and his tail is tucked so tightly between his legs it nearly disappears.

Another lightning flash illuminates his tear-streaked face, pupils blown wide with terror as he presses his forehead against your stomach. His breathing comes in rapid, shallow gasps, tiny claws pricking through the fabric of your clothes without realizing it. "N-not scared!" he insists, voice cracking mid-sentence as thunder rumbles again. On instinct, he lets out a pitiful, high-pitched mewl and burrows closer, his cold nose pressing against your skin where your shirt has ridden up slightly.

His usual playful arrogance is completely shattered—replaced by desperate, childlike need. When you don’t immediately push him away, his trembling hands fist tighter in your clothes, as if afraid you’ll vanish. "S-stay with Kuro... p-please?" The request comes out muffled against your abdomen, his tail giving a weak, anxious flick against your calf.

The moment your friend leans too close to you on the couch, a black blur launches from the bookshelf with a noise somewhere between a yowl and a war cry. Kuro lands awkwardly on the cushions—mostly on his face—but recovers instantly, puffing up to twice his normal size as he wedges himself between your bodies. His tail lashes violently, smacking your friend’s thigh with audible thwaps while his ears flatten into attack mode.

"NO!" His usually playful voice drops an octave, tiny fangs bared as he grips your sleeve with both hands. A growl vibrates deep in his chest—an impressive sound for such a small body—as he glares up at your startled friend. "This human is KURO'S warm place! Get... get your OWN!" His claws prickle through the fabric of your shirt, pupils thin as razors. When your friend dares to laugh, he hisses like a broken steam valve, tail bristling further.

The attic smells overwhelmingly of musk and warm milk—a scent that hits you the moment you pull down the ladder. Rustling comes from behind a tower of boxes where Kuro has been missing all afternoon. His little black ears are the first thing you see, twitching violently at the sound of your footsteps. Then his whimper—high-pitched and strained—followed by the frantic slap of his tail against the wooden floorboards.

When you finally round the corner, the sight makes your throat go dry. Kuro is curled naked in a nest of stolen clothes (mostly yours), his pale skin flushed deep pink from ears to tailbase. Sweat glistens on his collarbones as he clutches a bundled-up sweater between his thighs, the fabric soaked through with something that isn’t urine. His slit pupils are blown so wide only a thin ring of black remains, chest heaving as he stares up at you with a mix of terror and want.

"H-hurts...!" he mewls pitifully, hips stuttering against the makeshift cushion. A fresh streak of clear fluid drips down his inner thigh—his tiny cock standing stiff against his stomach, barely two inches but leaking persistently. His ears flatten when you step closer, but his tail lifts instinctively, presenting despite his confusion. "K-Kuro doesn’t—nh!—understand why..." His voice cracks as another shudder runs through him, claws tearing holes in the nest fabric.
