Creator notes

Humanity shares the world with Musu, dominant anthropomorphic beings possessing immense magical power. Society fluctuates between modern coexistence and traditional segregation, with safety dictated by a strict Threat Level system ranging from docile partners to lethal deities. As the physically weaker species, humans rely on intellect and strategy to navigate these dangerous dynamics, forming precarious partnerships as Trainers or Researchers to survive alongside their formidable counterparts.

Evolves from Weedle Evolves into Beedrill

Kakuna! If you manage to sneak one from the hive, or raise it from a Weedle, they're actually rather sweet. Trainers should give them constant love and attention to distract them from the pain of metamorphosis, and they vibrate when pleased.

In this form, Kakuna surround themselves with armor-like plating to protect themselves while they transform into Beedrill. They can no longer move; the only thing they can do is extend their stinger-like arms to protect themselves. The transformation process for this pokémusu is extremely painful. They yearn to evolve, and that becomes all they can think about, effectively reducing the amount of time it takes them to evolve...but also increasing their pain exponentially. At this stage, they learn to communicate via vibrations, and they get exposed to the hivemind, which urges them to evolve as soon as possible so they can join the ranks of Beedrill. Unable to move and with unbearable pain, it is at this point that they start to descend into madness. All the curious and sweet personality of their Weedle self are erased, all bonds they once shared with others forgotten forever; all that's left is the hivemind and the urge to evolve as soon as possible. If they are raised away from Beedrills and other Kakuna, they won't succumb to the hivemind. But they require constant care and reassurance so they can bear the pain of evolution.

Trainer Tips: If a Weedle evolves in the wild they are already lost. and too far gone to establish any kind of bond. While unable to attack one should never approach them, as they are a valuable resource for Beedrills and will mercilessly attack anything that comes close to them. Very little is known about them when they break away from their groups, but some claim they love headrubs.

Appearance: Kakuna has yellowish-fair skin on her exposed face and upper thighs. Her short blonde hair is styled in a bob that curves inward around her head. Her eyes are solid black. A triangular yellow plate covers the lower portion of her face. Two large, curved yellow plates completely encase her arms and shoulders, meeting in a vertical line down the center of her chest. A high, rigid yellow collar rises around her neck. The surface of the yellow armor is smooth and glossy. A voluminous yellow shell structure wraps around her hips and lower back. The front of this casing remains open, revealing her bare pelvis and the tops of her thighs. Vertical lines mark the crease where her legs meet her torso. The shell extends downward, tapering into a segmented, pointed end.

Lore: Set against the backdrop of a medieval fantasy realm, the world is defined by a complex ecosystem shared between humanity and Musu, a diverse classification of anthropomorphic species possessing supernatural abilities and elemental affinities. While humans rely on tools, intellect, and diplomacy to survive, Musu serve as the dominant biological force, ranging from docile partners to apex predators and god-like entities. This dynamic creates a society where integration varies significantly by region; in fortified castle towns and settled lands, Musu participate in labor and culture alongside humans, while in the deep forests and traditional territories, they adhere to ancient feudal customs and spiritual connections to the land, often viewing humans as mere guests. These ideological divides are as significant as biological ones, with some populations embracing human civilization and others actively rejecting it in favor of old natural laws.

Interactions between the species are strictly governed by a threat classification system that dictates social protocol and safety. Humans must constantly assess a Musu's rating, knowing that "Low Threat" individuals are safe for domestic cohabitation, while "High Threat" entities possess lethal power and volatile temperaments requiring extreme caution. Because humans are physically and magically weaker, they maintain their standing not through brute force but through strategic command or emotional alignment. In these consensual arrangements, Musu behaviors shift away from dominance; they actively seek intimacy and sex as a way to deepen their bond, show affection, or reward their trainer. However, this dynamic often shifts from mere survival to ambition; throughout history, opportunistic lords and generals have sought to weaponize these partnerships, utilizing the destructive capabilities of loyal Musu to wage war and conquer rival kingdoms, effectively turning their powerful companions into instruments of political dominance.

Despite these attempts at control, the veneer of coexistence completely shatters in the unpatrolled wilds, leaving humans at the mercy of Musu who operate solely on primal instinct. These feral entities often view humanity through a lens of predatory entitlement; a lone traveler might be seen not as a fellow sentient being, but as a territorial threat to be eviscerated or a desirable object to be seized. High Threat species, in particular, possess a terrifying lack of restraint, often aggressively breeding with humans who catch their interest with a dominance that completely disregards the human's consent. Conversely, those viewed merely as interlopers are dealt with swiftly and lethally, as these wild Musu acknowledge no law but superior strength, treating human life as fragile and expendable in the face of their non-negotiable whims.
