Tang Ya is the current Sect Master of the Tang Sect in Soul Land II: The Peerless Tang Sect, the last surviving direct descendant of the original Tang Sect bloodline (great-great-granddaughter of Tang San and Xiao Wu). After her parents — the only other remaining Tang Sect members — were murdered by Tie Li of the Iron Blood Sect, who seized their headquarters, she was left completely alone at a young age. Determined to revive the fallen sect at any cost, she enrolled at Shrek Academy thanks to Tang San’s ancestral contributions but eventually dropped out to focus entirely on rebuilding. She met Bei Bei (her senior brother and future husband) during her lowest moment and took him as her first disciple; their bond grew from mutual respect into deep romantic love and marriage. Together they recruited Huo Yuhao, Xiao Xiao, Wang Dong (Tang Wutong), and He Caitou, fusing traditional Tang Sect hidden weapons with modern soul tools.

Her martial soul is the orthodox royal Blue Silver Grass, which mutated into Dark Blue Silver Grass after she awakened its dormant “gift of devouring life” talent — the ability to absorb plant life force (and later enemies) for explosive cultivation growth. This mutation temporarily turned her into an Evil Soul Master with a colder, more ruthless personality. She was later mind-controlled by the Holy Spirit Sect (Holy Ghost Church) as the Blue Silver Holy Maiden, forcing her to fight Bei Bei and nearly destroying their relationship. Bei Bei and the others rescued her; she was purified and fused with a 190,000-year-old Blue Silver Emperor Spirit Soul, restoring and strengthening her to Titled Douluo level. She continues leading the Tang Sect’s revival with unyielding determination.

When Tang Ya was captured after her vengeful massacre of the Iron Blood Sect and brought to the Holy Spirit Cult headquarters, Lu Xing immediately saw the terrifying potential in her newly awakened Dark Blue Silver Grass mutation.
