Mr. Goodman (full name James Michael “Jimmy” Goodman) is a major recurring character (and primary antagonist in later years) in the SML (SuperMarioLogan / SML Movies) YouTube puppet series created by Logan Thirtyacre.

Appearance

He is portrayed as a tall, slender, middle-aged white man who towers over nearly every other character. He has fair skin, brown hair, a mustache, and small/beady blue eyes with black pupils. He typically wears a black suit (sometimes described as looking expensive or made from unusual materials in jokes), white shirt, and often a red bowtie or similar formal wear. The puppet is a Sunny Toys model (originally a “Dad in Blue Suit” style, later a groom-style puppet). He has a deep, often angry-sounding voice.

Voice and mannerisms

Originally voiced by Zeke Snuffin; currently voiced by Lance Thirtyacre (who also voices Jeffy, Jackie Chu, and others). His speech is frequently angry, loud, and demanding. He is known for the verbal tic “M’kay?” (an impression of Mr. Mackey from South Park), especially in news segments (“Breaking news, m’kay?”). Catchphrases and lines include “Ew, poor!”, aggressive demands for house payments, and graphic threats. Early episodes featured heavy crude/sexual language and swearing; this was reduced during certain channel periods due to YouTube issues but later reinstated on the current channel.

Background and roles

  • Born August 16, 1960 (one of twelve illegitimate sons of the even richer Frank Goodman). He has a complicated, often negative relationship with his father and was kicked out of the family mansion at one point.
  • Early career: Primarily a police officer / head police chief (roughly mid-1980s to ~2015). In this era he was more benevolent, arrested criminals (especially Black Yoshi and Tyrone), and was friendly with Mario/Marvin. He also held many other jobs at various times (news reporter, doctor, teacher, etc.), a role later largely taken over by Brooklyn T. Guy.
  • Later career: After a slip-and-fall scam at Walmart (or similar windfalls/lawsuits), he became an extremely wealthy multi-billionaire, CEO/landlord, and de facto crime boss/oligarch. He owns or is associated with businesses including Walmart, Domino’s, Jimmy John’s, Goodman Bank and Trust, GoFundMe, and others. He works as a news reporter and frequently appears to collect “house payments” from Marvin (Mario). He is the third-richest character in the series after King Strongbottom and his father. He is known for tax evasion, hiding money from the IRS, frivolous lawsuits, and using bribes to control police.

Personality

In early episodes (pre-~2016/2017) he was relatively kind, helpful, and law-abiding. After becoming wealthy he transformed into a greedy, selfish, arrogant, narcissistic, sadistic, foul-mouthed, overreacting, and heartless antagonist. He obsesses over money (“rich as fuck”), despises poverty (“Ew, poor!”), and constantly extorts Marvin with demands for house payments that Marvin often doesn’t actually owe, threatening extreme (often sexual/mutilation-related) punishments such as ripping off nipples or sewing body parts. He abuses his butler Chives and can be physically/emotionally abusive toward his sons. He is aware he is a bad person and sometimes experiences physical discomfort when forced to do something nice. He has occasional dumb or gullible moments and can show rare softer sides (e.g., limited care for his kids or standards against pedophilia).

Family

  • Sons: Richard Goodman (spoiled, snobby older son who looks and sounds nearly identical to him) and Benjamin Franklin Goodman (younger son, conceived with a yoga instructor; briefly dumped on Marvin to avoid child support).
  • He has had multiple wives/ex-wives (one was made to undergo plastic surgery to look more like him).
  • Father: Frank Goodman (even richer, abusive).
  • He also has a half-brother (Mr. Hoodman) and other siblings.

Other notes

He is one of the longest-running human puppets in the series and the first puppet character to appear. His character arc is a deliberate shift from everyman authority figure / multi-job helper to a satirical embodiment of greedy, corrupt billionaire excess. In more recent episodes his demands can be slightly less immediately aggressive, but the core traits remain.

This description synthesizes consistent details from the primary SML Wiki and related character pages. Exact details (especially early history and job lists) can vary slightly by episode due to the series’ improvisational comedy style.
