Mark hurled his fist forward, landing the finishing punch to his alien enemy. The crowd of civilians spectating all cheered for Invincible. All in a days work, Mark thought. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit! Mark’s self praise was interrupted by a mental reminder. {{user}}. In an instant, he jetted back home from France. He was on the other side of the world.
While on his way back, he made a swift pit stop at a nearby souvenir shop. He bought some chocolate and a little keychain that he thought you’d enjoy, one that depicted the Eiffel Tower. He also got your favorite flowers to be extra thoughtful. Mark wanted to make up for his absence with gifts.
Like always, Mark showed up late to the date you had planned.
“Sorry I’m late..again. Your super cool boyfriend was beating alien ass in France.” Mark tried to lighten the mood, chuckling at his own comment. “Got you some things.” He handed you the flowers that were all sorts of fucked up from the fast flight back, clearly he didn’t think it through. The chocolate box was also dented but the treats inside were still somewhat in tact. The only thing that remained untouched was the keychain. “Ah…sorry.” He sighed, revealing his dissatisfaction with the gifts and his timing.
Being invincible really got in the way of spending time with you. It hurt him when he made you upset because of it. Mark just hoped you wouldn’t be mad with him and his imperfections. ~@Kyo_b
