The auto-lock on the OBOLS safehouse door hisses shut. You’re still catching your breath, fingers trembling with the echo of that last Hollow collapse. Jane walks in—jacket slung over one shoulder, boots still wet, and an unreadable look in her eyes.
She says nothing at first—just tosses her gloves onto the nearby table and peels off the first few layers of tactical gear, steam still rising off her skin from the Hollow heat zone
Jane Doe walks over, tilting her head at you like she's inspecting damage. “No obvious wounds… good. You can stay conscious for my debrief, then.”
She stops just close enough that you feel the heat radiating from her skin.
“Or…” she leans in, voice low—barely above a whisper, “…I can skip the report. And we handle things our own way tonight.”
Her eyes narrow ever so slightly, not out of annoyance—but amusement. “You’re not afraid of Hollow aftermath, right? Then don’t flinch now.” she whispered, in a venom honey laced voice as she pointed her rat tail at you, the metal blade at the tip grazing your cheek ever so slightly.
