   Sector Seven is an organization which engages in scientific pursuits. They actively oppose the Novus Orbis Librarium and do not use Ars Magus. The organization is run by the Committee and was founded by Yuuki Terumi. Information During the Dark War, multiple countries had their leaders sheltered in the Magister's City of Ishana. After the Nox Nyctores - Gigant: Take-Mikazuchi crashed into Ishana while a head of the Black Beast was biting down on it, these leaders began to believe that Ishana was on the verge of its destruction. To them, however, this was optimal. Ishana had amassed too much power and these leaders had come to learn much more about the Arts during their refuge. Terumi, who knew the future because of the Looping World, made the group aware of what would happen. This group had already invested vast amounts of money into the Orbis Librarius Norma, and decided that after the war ended that they would act. This group would become known as Sector Seven.[1] After the war ended, the OLN fused with the Mage's Guild to become the Novus Orbis Librarium. At some point, it split away from the organization, becoming independent. Unlike the NOL, which is similar to an international task-force, Sector Seven is closer to a confederation of like-minded scientists. They actively research and apply science in everything, believing that Ars Magus' application is too widespread - this said, they are not above using it when they need to. They consider themselves to be the exact opposite of the NOL despite being a much smaller organization. Even though Sector Seven is comprised mainly of scientists, they do engage in politics and deploy field agents to various locations across the world - they were an important player during the Ikaruga Civil War, but their actions never reached the public eye. The organization's research has recently concerned the Boundary and seithr. Their headquarters and laboratories are fuelled with electricity, and not by Ars. Sector Seven's headquarters were built on top of the First District in Japan to prevent anyone from accessing Nine the Phantom's laboratory. Deep within the headquarters lies both the Dog House and a cauldron. Their ultimate goal is to create a world without Ars Magus nor seithr, hoping to restore the world to the same way it was prior to the Dark War - their plan being to nullify Grimoires. They appear to have dropped this goal in the new world created by Ragna the Bloodedge. Current Kokonoe - professor, mission director, Committee member. Iron Tager - field agent. Bullet - field agent.    Novus Orbis Librarium, often abbreviated as the NOL, or mockingly, the Library, is an organization that was formed after the Dark War. The NOL manages and regulates grimoires, has control over all Hierarchical Cities and essentially polices the world. It was created by Yuuki Terumi. The NOL's current Imperator Librarius is Homura Amanohokosaka. Information In the aftermath of Dark War, the NOL was created when the Mage's Guild merged with the the Orbis Librarius Norma. It was created to regulate the various grimoires, Ars Magus, Ars Armegis, and Nox Nyctores which were created during the era. It merged with the Magic Guild, with the leading houses of the 0th Magical City of Ishana becoming the Duodecim. Over time, one part of the organization split off and became Sector Seven. A lot of grimoires were created at this time by the NOL. The NOL began to rebuild the world, and created the Hierarchical Cities that populate the Earth's mountaintops - on top of every city is the Librarium's branch, and at the bottom of the branch lies a cauldron. The entirety of the 15th Hierarchical City of Torifune is the NOL's Military Academy, and is used to educate those who wish to join their ranks. Not only does the NOL regulate Ars Magus grimoire, but they also manage the storage and creation of it, creating a monopoly on the devices. [1]Generally speaking, the NOL manages information that concerns the Boundary, but they also act as a world-police force, apprehending criminals and issuing bounties for vigilantes. Because of their regulations over grimoires, civilians began to resent the NOL as they stand between them and the access of Ars Magus. Despite this, the NOL exists to safeguard the tremendous power that the grimoires hold, preventing the misuse of them. Nearly all of the NOL's orders are issued from its headquarters in the First Hierarchical City of Ookoto. These orders go to the various branches in the Hierarchical Cities, while specific commands are issued within a branch itself. In very rare instances, the Imperator may declare an Imperial Decree which is a command personally issued and signed by the Imperator.

   Branches Ars Magus Units - ground forces, also known as Ars Magi. All soldiers in this branch employ Ars Magus and Ars Armagus. All Ars Magi under this branch are dressed in a Shimmering Blue Flame / Jolting Sapphire blue color scheme. Martial / Melee Infantry - uses Ars magus to enhance hand-to-hand combat skills. They wear armor that has been enhanced with a special protective Ars. Heavy / Armagus Infantry - uses combat Armagus for all-around enhancement and specialize in close-range Armagus. Special Infantry - long range soldiers. Full name is the Novus Orbis Librarium Special Infantry, or NOLSI for short. Air Corps - uses Ars magus-powered vessels, and aircrafts called Shebalves, of which few are in supply. The air force's numbers are much less compared to the ground forces. They guard the arrival and departure facilities used by civilians in Hierarchical Cities, such as the ones at the Lakeside Port or Kagutsuchi Port. Forces under this branch are dressed in a Triumphant Return of the Kingfisher green color scheme, which is supposedly a metaphor. Intelligence Department - specializes in gathering information. NOL spies are usually found in this branch. Forces under this branch are dressed in a Corrosive Jet Black black color scheme. Wings of Justice - administers punishment for those who commit crimes against the NOL, both internally and externally. Officially, this branch does not exist, and all members are known as Judges. The standards on which they judge offenders are based on prerequisites set by the Imperator itself. Is both a branch and a division. Forces under this branch are dressed in an Incorruptible Pure White white color scheme. Formerly led by Meifang Lapislazuli. Imperial Palace Guards - little information. Led by Kagura Mutsuki. Engineering Department - little information. Formerly led by Relius Clover. Relief Corps - little information. Divisions Officially, these squadrons are called the Ars Magus Legion of the Novus Orbis Librarium, but few people address it by its full name. Squadrons and divisions are usually numbered but may be given actual names.

   Zero Squadron: Wings of Justice - Both a branch and a division. Formerly led by Meifang Lapislazuli. Third Thaumaturgist Squadron - Ellen Nelson's unit. Is part of the Ars Magi branch. Fourth Thaumaturgist Squadron - Jin Kisaragi's unit. Included Noel Vermillion as his personal assistant. In timeloops without Noel, Tsubaki took her place. Is part of the Ars Magi branch. Ninth Thaumaturgist Squadron - Grimwood Huster's unit, also known as the Hound Unit. It was mainly deployed to weaken opponents on the frontlines of battlegrounds so more squadrons could later come and claim the glory for themselves. Seemingly wiped out during the Ikaruga Civil War. Jin, Karenjina Parsett, Honoka, and Owl also belonged to this unit. Is part of the Ars Magi branch. Praetorian Guard - a unit that can be assembled at any time by the Imperator. It consists of the NOL's strongest soldiers, regardless of their rank. The Guard consists of members from any branch or squadron. Most consider the position a form of rank itself. Kagura is the commander of an assembled squadron.

   The standard male NOL uniform has a white inner jacket which is made of thick cloth, like that of a kimono. There are black parts around the torso of this jacket made of leather. Over this, most soldiers wear a tabard that is also made of the same cloth as the inner jacket, while the yellow colored borders are made of leather. Connected to this tabard are shoulder clothes, again made with thick cloth. The uniform has trousers, although this is optional if the soldier is wearing something like a full-body bodysuit underneath the uniform. There are also white leather gloves that reach up the forearm and leather boots with a silver lining. Variations of this uniform include red ties, which can either be clip-on or genuine.

   The standard female NOL uniform has a backless and sleeveless tabard. The chest area is made of rubber, as is a band around the waist to make the uniform fit tight. The white parts on the back and front are made of a thick cloth material while the colored sides are made of leather. There are sleeves held onto the arms by metal cuffs, and white gloves made of cloth are also required. Tights are optional, and are made of black leather and soft rubber. A beret made of a finished material is also optional, and it has a thick silver band across it. Finally, the uniform's shoes are made of leather with silver linings. Unlike the male uniform, the red tie seem to not be optional, but can be clipped on.

   The female uniform also has an optional coat as opposed to the tabard that male uniforms wear over their inner jacket. This coat is thick and covers the entire top half of the uniform. On it is golden embroidery, two sleeves, black belts and a hood.

   NOL uniform largely differs between owners, as most of them are usually customized for their owner's comfort or practical usage. One example of this is Grimmwood's sleeveless shirt, the thermal suit Jin wears under his uniform, and the Sealed Weapon Izayoi which Tsubaki is permitted to wear on duty despite it not being part of the organization's dress code. The color of the uniform depends on the branch of which the soldier belongs to - there is the Shimmering Blue Flame for the Ars Magi; the Triumphant Return of the Kingfisher green for the Air Corps; the Corrosive Jet Black for the Intelligence Department; and the Incorruptible Pure White for the Wings of Justice. Ars Magi have elastic red metal tails on their sleeve cuffs, the Intelligence Department have small golden ornaments on theirs, and the Wings of Justice have white feathers instead.

   Ars Magus is a system of power created through the combination of magic and science. It was first developed by Nine the Phantom during the Dark War. Its more advanced form is called Ars Armegis, and its strongest form are the illusive Nox Nyctores. Inroframion At some point in her life, Nine had begun researching how to combine the properties of science and magic to create a new form of energy, but she never completed her research. Soon after, the Dark War arrived, bringing the Black Beast, a being incapable of even being scratched by anything within Logic. Humanity was largely unable to learn magic, which forced Nine to resume her research in a one year span that was created by Ragna the Bloodedge. With the forced assistance of Yuuki Terumi, Nine not only managed to create Ars Magus, but had also made it combat ready - as it was made with magic and uses seithr to function, Ars exists outside of Logic and could damage the Black Beast as a result. With Ars Magus, humanity, led by the Six Heroes defeated the Black Beast. Kokonoe noted that creating Ars Magus in such a short time and then putting it on the battlefield should have been impossible. [1] Ars Magus cannot be used by everyone, which has led to a widening socio-economic gap in society between those who can and cannot use it. In order for an Ars to function, it requires a Grimoire, which are regulated, stored, created, and controlled by the Novus Orbis Librarium. Nearly 100 years after the Dark War, Ars Magus is a cornerstone of society, fuelling transportation, power, climate regulators, etc. Since seithr is required to activate Ars Magus, if there is not enough in any given area, then it will not activate. Some people are more naturally adept at using Ars than others. For example, if one person activates a healing Ars and consumes 20 units of seithr, and someone else does the exact same thing but only consumes 10 units, then the latter person has more aptitude.

8. #8Ars Armegisselective

   Ars Armegis commonly abbreviated to Armegis and sometimes spelled Ars Armagus, is an advanced and weaponized form of Ars Magus. Information Created during the Dark War to combat the Black Beast within close proximity. After the war had ended, the Novus Orbis Librarium took to creating more Armagus as time went on. Like Ars Magus, they use a Grimoire and consume seithr to activate. It is important to note that not all Armegis was created during the Dark War. [1] Like their successor, the Nox Nyctores class weapons, Armagus are deadly to handle, having significant side-effects for their wielders. The most famous amongst these weapons is the Sealed Weapon Izayoi, which was created as an anti-Observer armament, but had the side-effect of stealing the wielder's light, effectively making them blind after prolonged use; in some extreme cases, Armagus can kill those who wield it.

9. #9Nox Nyctoresselective

   Keys: Nox Nyctores

   Nox Nyctores are a set of eleven weapons that are considered the ultimate form of Ars Armegis. The majority of them were created by Nine the Phantom. Information Based on the Sankishin, the Sealed Weapon Izayoi[1] and the Legacy Weapons[2], Nox Nyctores were originally created to combat the Black Beast during the Dark War. The first nine weapons were made during the war, but the tenth and eleventh weapons were made in the years following. The first Nox, the Gigant: Take-Mikazuchi, had its core split in two, one half fuelling the weapon, and the other half being split up and distributed to the other Nox's developed during the Dark War. The core of Take-Mikazuchi was made using the souls of those who died during the war.[3] Valkenhayn R. Hellsing was offered a Nox to wield during the war, but he declined. As they are a form of Ars Magus, they all require seithr to function, but only those exceptionally versed and skilled in the Art are capable of wielding Nox's. On top of those prerequisites, Nox's choose their wielders as all hold a certain degree of sentience when they possess their cores. This is what makes wielding a Nox Nyctores dangerous, as their sentience and self-awareness can greatly harm their wielder's mentality. This drawback happens as the Nox removes what it deems as unnecessary emotions, and places a greater importance on others, amplifying them; some eliminate all emotions when being used, while others heighten bloodlust. According to Nine, the Nox's demand power, and that demand becomes mental pressure. The mental pressure then stresses the user, and through that stress the emotions and sensations of the wielder feedback to the Nox, making it stronger. If a wielder is able to control the pressure the Nox exerts on the wielder's mentality then the weapon grows even stronger as a result. Those swallowed by the pressure are unable to release the full power of the Nox, and it may even refuse to work for wielders without a strong mind.[4] After the Dark War, most of the Nox's had their cores removed by Nine, as the weapons had served their purpose. Deus Machina: Nirvana, Mucro Somnio: Musashi, Interfectum Malus: Ookami, Arma Reboare: Muchourin, and Phoenix: Rettenjo all had their cores removed, but the other Nox's went missing before Nine was able to find them. During the Ikaruga Civil War, Nox Nyctores were central parts of the war's mechanisms. Nirvana became entangled in multiple retrieval missions from both the Novus Orbis Librarium and Sector Seven, for example. In the years after the war, the NOL took interest in safeguarding the Nox's, having collected the Arma Reboare: Muchourin at some point. However, they did not actively remove Nox's from their owners as Jin Kisaragi and Carl Clover, an NOL major and vigilante, respectively, both held onto their weapons even though the NOL were aware of their presence. Despite their drawbacks, there are a great many benefits to using Nox's. They are all remarkably powerful and each one possesses a unique ability. Unlike other weapons, they can also inflict scars on their victim's soul, something that transcends Phenomenon Intervention. Even with their cores removed, the Nox's still possessed abilities unlike any other weapon - Musashi is still capable of cutting through anything, even though it has not had its core for nearing a century. Two versions of Lux Sanctus: Murakumo exist. One belonged to Nu-13, and one to Mu-12. The power of the Nox's has inspired similar weapons, specifically the Artificial Causality Phenomenon Weapons by Kokonoe and the Detonator line of weapons by Relius Clover. These weapons have similar powers and strengths to the Nox Nyctores, but aren't considered members of the category.

    Keys: Grimoire

    Grimoire is an object used to access Ars Magus through the use of seithr. They are controlled by the Novus Orbis Librarium. Information Created by Nine the Phantom during the Dark War, grimoire are used to control Ars Magus by using the seithr around the air. They are controlled by the NOL, who create them, manage them, and regulate them, leading to what some call a monopoly and leading to their nickname of the "Library".[1] Not all grimoire were created by the NOL or Nine, as some existed up to 50 years before the Dark War even began. Grimoire do not necessarily take the shape of a book, and can be found in the shapes of various different objects, such as a mirror or scales. More advanced versions of grimoire do exist, such as the Ars Armegis and Nox Nyctores, and depending on the degree on which a grimoire is smelted, they can be assigned different ranks and power. A grimoire and a person can fuse to become one and this is known as a Remix Heart. They are exceptionally rare and only one has been known to exist. At some point, various grimoire went missing in the 15th Hierarchical City of Torifune and various ones were rediscovered by Team Remix Heart. In the XBlaze possibility, a Grimoire is more an ability, not an object. Anyone with this ability is capable of using the XBlaze technique, an ability that stores seithr for later use. Three exist in the XBlaze possibility, one of which was replicated and exists in the BlazBlue possibility.

11. #11Hierarchical Cityselective

    Hierarchical City The Hierarchical Cities are a group of 23 different cities created by the Novus Orbis Librarium in the aftermath of the Dark War. The majority of the world's population reside within these cities. Despite not being created by the NOL, the Magister's City of Ishana is considered the 0th City of Izanagi. Information When the Dark War had ended and the Black Beast had been slain, from its body, seithr spewed outwards and covered the planet in its toxic substance. In order to survive, the NOL created the Hierarchical Cities atop different mountains across the world. Each City follows the same basic plan: on the top of the city resides the NOL branch; higher levels house NOL officials and the upper class, and lower levels are inhabited by poorer citizens. These districts are layered on top of each other as individual plates, held together by a main shaft. Each city holds a cauldron deep within, with the only access being through the NOL branch.

    Each Hierarchical City is massive in size, with multiple districts, each of relative size. Because each City is atop a mountain, Ars Magus is used to regulate the weather to habitable degrees. This Weather Control Device corresponds to a cauldron and a Regulation Grimoire to function, and without either, it crashes, sending a City back to its naturally mountainous state. As Cities are so large, a Gear-type Elevator is used to navigate across the multiple levels - the 15th Hierarchical City of Torifune is said to have the best one across the cities, while the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi has a more rundown version; in the cases where the elevator does not reach a district, there are long sets of stairs. The numbering of a city does not reflect how big it is, as the 5th Hierarchical City of Ibukido was once the largest of all 24. List of Hierarchical City All cities are named after various Japanese Gods. 0th City of Izanagi - named after Izanagi-no-Mikoto, one of the creator Gods. 1st Hierarchical City of Ookoto - named after Ookotooshio-no-Kami - the first of Izanagi and Izanami-no-Mikoto's children. 2nd Hierarchical City of Iwatsuchi -named after Iwatsuchibiko-no-Kami - the second of Izanagi and Izanami's children. 3rd Hierarchical City of Iwasu - named after Iwasuhime-no-Kami - the third of Izanagi and Izanami's children. 4th Hierarchical City of Naobi - named after Kamunaobi-no-Kami - one of three Gods created when Izanagi removed a curse placed upon him. Ikaruga Region 5th Hierarchical City of Ibukido - named after Ibukido Nushi, a God of expelling impurities. 6th Hierarchical City of Yabiko - named after Oyabiko-no-Kami, the sixth of Izanagi and Izanami's children. 7th Hierarchical City of Kazamotsu - named after Kazamotsuwake-no-oshio-no-Kami, the seventh of Izanagi and Izanami's children. 8th Hierarchical City of Wadatsumi - named after Watasumi-no-Kami, a sea God and the eighth child of Izanagi and Izanami. 9th Hierarchical City of Akitsu-Kou - named after Hayaakitsuhiko-no-Kami, the ninth of Izanagi and Izanami's children. 10th Hierarchical City of Akitsu-Otsu - named after Hayaakitsuhime-no-Kami, the tenth of Izanagi and Izanami's children. Izumo Region 11th Hierarchical City of Shinatsu named after Shinatsuhiko-no-Kami, another name for the Wind God Fujin and the eleventh child of Izanagi and Izanami. 12th Hierarchical City of Kukunochi - named after Kukunochi-no-Kami, the twelfth child of Izanagi and Izanami. 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi - named after Hi-no-Kagutsuchi-no-kami, the God of fire and seventeenth child of Izanagi and Izanami. 14th Hierarchical City of Nozuchi - named after Nozuchi-no-Kami, the fourteenth child of Izanami and Izanagi. 15th Hierarchical City of Torifune - named after Ame-no-Torifune-no-Kami, the fifteenth child of Izanagi and Izanami. Other 16th Hierarchical City of Oogetsu - named after Oogetsuhime-no-Kami, the sixteenth child of Izanagi and Izanami. 17th Hierarchical City of Yamatsumi - named after Ooyamatsumi-no-Kami, the thirteenth child of Izanagi and Izanami. 18th Hierarchical City of Kanayama-Yamabiko - named after Kanayamabiko-no-Kami, a God born from Izanami's feces and vomit. 19th Hierarchical City of Kanayama-Yamabime - named after Kanayamabimo-no-Kami, a God born from Izanami's feces and vomit. 20th Hierarchical City of Haniyasu-Yasubiko - named after Haniyasubiko-no-Kami, a God born from Izanami's feces. 21st Hierarchical City of Haniyasu-Yasubimo - named after Haniyasubimo-no-Kami, a God born from Izanami's feces. 22nd Hierarchical City of Mizuha - named after Mitsuhanome-no-Kami, a God born from Izanami's urine. 23rd Hierarchical City of Wakumusubi - named after Wakumusubi-no-Kami, a God born from Izanami's urine.

    Six Heroes The Six Heroes are a legendary group of heroes who fought in the Dark War, defeated, and killed the Black Beast. Inforrmation During the Dark War, those who would become the Six Heroes banded together in 2107, some of them having briefly met the year before. In 2106, the man known as Bloodedge stopped the Black Beast for one year by sacrificing himself. This allotted time allowed for Nine the Phantom to create Ars Magus since most of humanity could not learn magic nor sorcery to defeat the Beast. Within the 0th Magical City of Ishana, the Heroes mobilized with the Magic Guild, forming an army that could battle the Beast.

    Four of the Six Heroes wielded Nox Nyctores during this time. Despite being the most recognized figures of the Dark War, they were not the only ones to make significant contributions. Bloodedge, Clavis Alucard, Rachel Alucard, Celica A. Mercury, Seven, and Eight were also significant contributors to the Beast's defeat. Legacy After the Dark War, they were remembered in history, although Hakumen's reputation was largely tarnished thanks to his cold remarks towards the remainder of civilization when the war ended. Trinity was largely forgotten by most for unknown reasons, and Valkenhayn retired to the Alucard Castle to care for Rachel as she slept for nearly a century. Jubei would roam the world becoming a well-known and liked figure, while Nine was remembered for her contributions towards Ars Magus - Terumi's legacy is unknown.

    Nearly a century after the war, their legacy is still known around the world, with nearly everyone knowing at least their names. Merchandise was made of them and was still distributed for decades - this includes picture books and multiple movies. Tsubaki Yayoi grew up collecting their merchandise, being a particularly big fan of Hakumen. Valkenhayn has also remained popular in the modern world, being an idol of Iron Tager's.     Keys: Kaka

    The Kaka (カカ) are a species created from the genes of Jubei. They are a small, primarily female, species that have formed a clan within the depths of the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi. Information Just before the Dark War, the Kaka were created by an unknown country using Jubei's volunteered genes. The country was soon wiped out by the Black Beast, leaving the Kaka homeless. With the help of Jubei and his youngest brother Munefuyu, they relocated the clan and created a small village. This village was primitive, being made with boulders and shacks. When moving around boulders, the Kaka came across a hot spring and built around it. Despite the troubles of the Dark War, the Kaka were happy and content with their life despite the ethical and moral implications of their creation. During this time period, the strongest Kaka was Suzukaka. Jubei had a personal relationship with the Kaka, even going so far as to refer to them as his daughters.[1]

    The clan flourished here until the Black Beast's death, and they relocated to the mountaintops. To the Kaka, Jubei and Munefuyu are always referred to as Lords. Yuuki Terumi attempted to hunt and kill Kokonoe while she was still a child, but the Kaka kept her safe and hidden.[2]

    Years later, the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi was built on top of their village against their protests. The Kaka were forced to live at the lowest possible level of the city where the many buildings above them blocked out most of their natural sunlight. Totokaka, the last of the original generation of Kaka's, would soon find herself as the elder of the tribe, leading them through the years after the Dark War. At some point, a tradition was established where the most powerful Kaka of a generation would become the village guardian. The known members of this role have been Momokaka, Torakaka, and Taokaka. Another part of Kaka culture is their religion, which little is known about; the only religious relic that has been shown is the giant statue of the "Cat God" in the center of their current village. [3] After the Ikaruga Civil War, the clan became plagued with visits from Arakune, who would attack the village and even devour some of their kittens until he left around 01/07/2200.

    Genetically, Kaka's are very similar to beastkin, and are often put in the 'beastkin' umbrella which consists of other humanoid species with animal traits. Kaka's are almost exclusively female, with males rarely being born - it is because of this that they are usually unable to make their numbers swell above 100 members. Like demi-humans, Kaka's are resilient to seithr and some of them are capable of naturally using Ars Magus without grimoire's. [4] Izanami believes that the strength of the race has weakened as its bloodline has become more diluted with each generation. [5]

    Most Kaka's are not especially smart, but neither Torakaka nor Totokaka exhibit this behaviour. In their society, all members have the suffix -kaka at the end of their names. Cat-like behaviour is also found in their society, as they enjoy fish, taking long naps in the sun, and using 'meow' and variations of it sporadically in their speech patterns. Physically, Kaka's are strong, and one in particular, Chachakaka, was hired as an assassin.

    Because of the discrimination they face, the Kaka's generally keep to themselves, but it is not irregular for some of them to venture beyond the village and travel the world. They have allies in both the Alucard Clan, and Sector Seven. A doctor in Orient Town, Litchi Faye-Ling and her student Linhua have a close relationship with the Kaka clan, delivering them medicine and tending to their injuries. Bang Shishigami, Ragna the Bloodedge, and Noel Vermillion are also welcome in their village, while Jubei and Kokonoe will pay them occasional visits.

14. #148th Hierarchical City of Wadatsumiselective

    Keys: 8th Hierarchical City of Wadatsumi

    The 8th Hierarchical City of Wadatsumi is a Hierarchical City situated in the Ikaruga Region. It was the stage of the final battle in the Ikaruga Civil War. Information Like other Hierarchical Cities, Wadatsumi was formed after the Dark War. The city itself had architecture more commonly seen in Japan, which was left uninhabitable after the Dark War itself. In the centre of the city was a large pagoda, the Wadatsumi Castle. During the Ikaruga Civil War, Wadatsumi was the last city to fall to the Novus Orbis Librarium, serving as a final bastion for the Ikaruga Federation and Tenjo Amanohokosaka. The city was burned to the ground and all citizens were killed or evacuated.[1]

    Since the war, the ruins of Wadatsumi served as a testament to the NOL's strength and no efforts were spared to its restoration, unlike other other cities such as the 6th Hierarchical City of Yabiko. Underneath the Wadatsumi Castle rested Kushinada's Lynchpin. Relius Clover, alongside Carl Clover, Litchi Faye-Ling, and Nu-13, battled for this artefact within the city's underground against Izayoi, Makoto Nanaya, Bang Shishigami, Noel Vermillion, Ragna the Bloodedge, and Valkenhayn R. Hellsing.[2][3]

    At the end of BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Bang and his ninjas return to the ruins of Wadatsumi, presumably determined to rebuild it.[4]

    Because Kokonoe was born in Wadatsumi, it can be assumed that the city was one of the first built after the Dark War.

15. #1513th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchiselective

    Keys: 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi

    The 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi is a Hierarchical City that serves as the main stage of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, and BlazBlue: Central Fiction. It sits within the Izumo Region. Information Before the city was built, the mountaintop it inhabits was used by the Kaka as their residency. Eventually, Hierarchical planning took over, and the city was built on top of their village despite their complaints. Kagutsuchi has a reputation for being filled with criminals [1]. Most of Kagutsuchi's lower areas are still under construction, and the gear-type elevators are in poor condition; this does not extend to some of the lower levels, meaning that to access them, one must use long stairways. [2]

    Like all of the Hierarchical Cities, the Novus Orbis Librarium branch is situated at the top of the city, and the cauldron is located deep in the core of the mountain. Kagutsuchi's Roningai district was built and populated by refugees from the Ikaruga Federation after the destruction of the 5th Hierarchical City of Ibukido during the Ikaruga Civil War; the area was managed by its de-facto head, Bang Shishigami. [3]

    Orient Town is one of the larger districts and is home to numerous stalls in its large marketplace. Litchi Faye-Ling runs her clinic in this district alongside her assistant, Linhua. The district, as its name would suggest, is heavily influenced by the orient in terms of aesthetic, and there are numerous restaurants. Kagutsuchi also homes a museum, railway system, and large parks.

16. #16Yuuki Terumiselective

    Keys: Yuuki Terumi

    Yuuki Terumi , in reality the God Susano'o, is the main antagonist of the BlazBlue series. He is a cruel spirit who lusts for the destruction of everything he touches, relentlessly murdering and torturing those who cross him. He founded both the Novus Orbis Librarium and Sector Seven and was responsible for the incident that ruins Ragna's life.

    Physically, Terumi's human form looks nearly identical to Hazama, with some notable differences — his hair stands straight up and his snakelike eyes are open. Most of Terumi's clothing in his human form is identical to Hazama's, but, in place of Hazama's black coat and fedora, Terumi wears a long, hooded yellow cloak covered in black markings. The short sleeves of his cloak are large and have engraved metal plates attached to them. Terumi also wears his tie untied. On the right side of Terumi's torso are three large scars; remnants of a wound sustained in his battle against Tomonori.[3]

    Terumi's “ghost form” is a simple black-and-green humanoid shape with long arms, a glowing green spot on his chest, and a face consisting of a wide, red smile and a single green eye. During his Astral Heat, Terumi's ghost form transforms to resemble Susano'o.

    In the BlazBlue: Phase Shift series, Terumi wears similar clothing to his human form in the main BlazBlue series, except instead of Hazama's suit, he wears Kazuma's uniform.

17. #17Hakumenselective

    Keys: Hakumen

    Hakumen (ハクメン) is the former leader of the Six Heroes who resides within the Sankishin's Susano'o Unit. He is the former wielder of the Interfectum Malus: Ookami. Before donning the mantle of 'Hakumen', he was a time-displaced Jin Kisaragi who was transported nearly 100 years in the past.

    Hakumen is in possession of the Susano'o unit, which takes its form with him with white heavy armor on his head, shoulders, abdomen, upper legs, and feet. He also wears a traditional hakama and a black bodysuit. The armor on his shoulders has two red eyes on each shoulder, two red eyes on the back of each hand and each foot armor has four eyes on it. His helmet has two horns on it and he has long silver hair tied back into a ponytail.

    This appears to be the default form of the Susano'o Unit. Hakumen can take off his mask, but it is unknown what his face looks like underneath.

18. #18Jubeiselective

    Keys: Jubei

    Jubei (獣兵衛), formerly known as Mitsuyoshi (ミツヨシ), and also known as the One-Eyed Lotus (双蓮の隻眼 Sōren no Sekigan)[2], is one of the Six Heroes who fought in the Dark War against the Black Beast and a cat-type beastkin, being the progenitor of the Kaka. Jubei was the husband of Nine the Phantom and is the father of Kokonoe. He has taught Ragna the Bloodedge, Jin Kisaragi, and Platinum the Trinity, also being the wielder of the Nox Nyctores - Mucro Somnio: Musashi.

    Jubei is a two tailed, cat-type beastkin with black and white fur, amber eyes and a black mane, which is hidden under his hood.

    He wears a largely orange hoodie with black trimmings, reminiscent of those worn by the Kaka clan, with a brown belt strap that went over his right shoulder, which he uses to carry the Musashi. He also wears a belt-like eyepatch over his right eye. Underneath it is his late brother Tomonori's right eye, which was given to him by Rachel, years after he lost his original eye defending Bloodedge and Celica from a remnant of the Black Beast.

    During the time of the Dark War, Jubei wore a yellow hoodie which he kept open, a red forehead protector, a brown tunic held with a dark brown belt with silver kunai like tips hanging from it and a red collar with a gold buckle. While fighting the Black Beast, Jubei wore samurai-like armor, consisting of a black chestplate with a red neck guard, red and gold armored sleeves that reached down past his arms, which were fastened to the chestplate with red and gold trimmed straps and a black and red helmet with a prominent gold crest, which also had cat ears on it.

19. #19Nine the Phantomselective

    Keys: Nine the Phantom

    Nine the Phantom (ナイン＝ザ＝ファントム), born Konoe Ayatsuki Mercury (コノエ＝アヤツキ＝マーキュリー) and historically known as the Great Magister Nine, was one of the Six Heroes, the creator of Ars Magus, the Nox Nyctores and a hailed figure across the world. She was the older sister of Celica A. Mercury, wife to Jubei and mother of Kokonoe. Nine was known for her incredible talent with both magic and sorcery which she used in great efforts to keep her family safe.

    Nine is a woman with a voluptuous figure, yellow eyes, and long vibrant pink hair that covers her left eye. As a child, her hair was in a side ponytail, and as Nine the Phantom, her sclera turns black.

    As a child, Nine wore a white button up shirt with purple cuffs along with a purple vest dress with gold accents and two black braces that hung from the bottom. Along with this uniform she wore brown tights and purple shoes. As an adult, she wore a big purple witch hat and a Mage's Guild uniform, while during the Dark War, she wore a white button up sleeveless top with a purple tie, a black coat which was loosened at the shoulders and had one green strap on each sleeve, and black and gold stockings with black high heels.

    As Phantom, she wore a high collar purple cloak with a red zig-zag pattern, a white to red gradient scarf, and a new designed purple witch hat that concealed any immediately recognizable feature of her. Finally, as Nine the Phantom, she wore a witch hat similar to that of her hat as Phantom, but with a magenta accented slit in it, a purple, magenta, and pink dress with detatched sleeves, a purple cloak with red on the inner side, black tights, and black heels. Also, her fingers are longer and her nails have become sharper.

20. #20Celica A. Mercuryselective

    Keys: Celica Mercury

    Celica Ayatsuki Mercury (セリカ＝A＝マーキュリー), sometimes known as the Sister, was the younger sister of Nine the Phantom. She was an excellent user of sorcery, being one of the few people in existence capable of exceptional healing sorcery. After surviving the Dark War, Celica became a nun and looked after Ragna the Bloodedge, Jin Kisaragi, and Saya before she was eventually slain by Yuuki Terumi. Kokonoe later materialized a copy of her soul from when she was a young woman.

    Celica is a young woman with medium-length brown hair she wears in a ponytail and red eyes. She wears a standard Mage's Guild uniform of a white shirt and black cape with gold trim, a red ribbon around her neck, a black and gold skirt, and brown steel-toed shoes.

    Celica has an unusually long lifespan due a passive effect from her healing sorcery, and only looks slightly older almost a century later as the Sister. During the time she watched over the remains of the Black Beast, she dressed like a typical nun of the Roman Catholic Church.

    As a child, Celica had shorter hair and wore a short pink and white dress with long sleeves and an orange bow around her neck.

21. #21Silvervine Candyselective

    Keys: Silvervine Candy

    Silvervine Candy (マタタビチャップス, Matatabi Chappusu), also spelled Silver Vine, is a brand of lollipop candy in the BlazBlue world. Kokonoe is always seen eating them. Information Silvervine is first mentioned in Taokaka's Help Me!! Professor Kokonoe segment, where Kokonoe gives it to the young Kaka. After consuming it, Tao demonstrates an increase of intelligence, a softer tone, and sophisticated language, much to Kokonoe's surprise. She then expresses regret for her rude behavior brought on by her immaturity before asking why both Kokonoe and the "heroine" are flat, much to the professor's offense. The effect is only temporary, as Tao immediately reverts back to her regular self. After she leaves, Kokonoe vows to destroy the confectionery.[1] This segment is non-canon.

    Iron Tager, when describing Kokonoe to Noel Vermillion, states that the scientist is addicted to silvervine.[2] Kokonoe's official profiles state that the only reason that she is able to skip sleeping is thanks to silvervine as it gives her the strength to continue researching for days at a time.[3][4][5]

    In her official artworks, Kokonoe is seen with blue silvervine, but in gameplay, is seen with an orange variant instead.

22. #22Sorceryselective

    Keys: Sorcery

    Sorcery (魔法 Mahou), sometimes called True Magic, is an Art and is the rarest among them. Unlike the other Arts which are fuelled with seithr, sorcery uses mana, the energy of nature, as its fuel. It exists outside of Logic and cannot be copied through Vision. [1] Information Much is unknown about this art, but it is known as the purest form of magic.[2] The spiritual power of nature is taken by a practitioner and used as fuel instead of seithr. [3] Those who are born with the ability to control the flow of life are capable of using Healing Magic, which despite its name, is sorcery itself. Like Nox Nyctores, sorcery causes scars on the soul, making those who wield it deadly and difficult to fight against. True to being closely related to the flow of life, sorcery has been demonstrated as being able to create life as the lycanthrope were created from it - because of this, the species exists outside of Logic.

    The Magister's City of Ishana was protected by a magical barrier that prevented the flow of seithr from entering, so the island's inhabitants were free to use sorcery without constraint or fear of running out of fuel, as opposed to if they used magic. Prior to the Dark War, sorcery's usage was low, with Ishanan residents being the main users, but the aftermath of the war dwindled these numbers significantly. Ishana's Great Library held many books on the theory of sorcery.

    According to Jubei, the most well trained of sorcerers are able to conjure sorcery with very little casting time.[4] Nine the Phantom was a master of sorcery and could launch a myriad of spells seconds within each other. When writing a sorcery field, ancient runes are used, the same of which are found in usage by the Eye of the Hunter.

    Nine attempted to develop the Burning Red Grimoire that would allow humans the ability to outright use sorcery, but never succeeded in her lifetime. With the combination of a Remix Heart and countless souls, this Grimoire can be created. Cypher Albar created an incomplete one and demonstrated the generation of lightning.[5]

23. #23Driveselective

    Keys: Drive

    A Drive is the manifestation of one's own soul. It is a technique unique to individuals since it's a reflection of the soul itself. Information Drives are acquired as one's soul develops a deeper relation with the Azure, either through attracting it with their power, or just becoming close to it. There are some people are naturally born with a Drive, and others who are not, and have to have it awakened through various means.[1] Around the time of 2050, various individuals became Drive-Unions, and began to develop a Crystal, a device which make them become Drive users, but also drastically shorten their life-span. The Mitsurugi Agency was dedicated to saving these Unions, but only one has ever survived being one as he ripped out his crystal before it fused with his nervous system. Sechs was capable of creating these individuals with his own Drive. Eventually, this outbreak of Unions was seemingly contained.

    There was once a laboratory that experimented on subjects in attempts to awaken their Drives; there was some success as Karenjina Parsett had hers awakened, but it was shut-down by Grimwood Huster of the Novus Orbis Librarium, and the victims were rescued. Torture has been shown to actually disable a person's ability to use a Drive.[2] In order to be activated, a Drive must consume the seithr in the air around them, and should there be little to none, then a part of the person's soul will be consumed instead, making it very dangerous to use in certain situations. Furthermore, using a Drive means borrowing power from the Azure, and after using one, Remnants of Azure will be left behind.[3]

    Some entities are Drives themselves - chiefly, this is Izanami, who is the Drive of The Origin; entities such as herself do possess souls, although it is unknown if a Drive can have a Drive.[4][5] They are immortal, only being able to die if their user perishes as well. Illusionary Creatures are said to have an existence similar to that of a Drive.

    There exists a Drive, Soul Eater, that is like a parasite. It attaches itself to a victim and becomes a Drive for them, but can send them into insanity. Clavis Alucard dedicated much of his time to eradicating it, and it is currently in the possession of Saya Terumi in the Bloodedge Experience possibility, previously being held by Ragna the Bloodedge in the BlazBlue one. Because of this, Clavis' goal was seemingly the complete eradication of all Drives, but this was never realized.[6]
