BF is implied to be clingy, as he is never seen without GF by his side. As a result, he is afraid of virtually nothing besides storms and losing his GF. this is demonstrated during rap battling Monster, where he does not appear to be afraid despite Monster's constant threats to eat him and GF. BF also seems to get bored of scary games, as he once almost fell asleep while playing one. Despite this apparent lack of intelligence, he has street smarts, as he knows how to heal people.

BF has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism. He is also a creative individual, which is demonstrated by his talents as a musician and freestyle rapper. Furthermore, he is never found without his red cap. BF has low levels of empathy, but he has good intuition. He may live in a messy place, as he does not wash his dirty clothes and continuously moves a pile of them around his room depending on his needs, which also suggests that he has executive dysfunction. During the destruction of his school, he is shown to act quite recklessly, taking action immediately despite the danger he could be running into.

After the events of Pico's School, Pico had developed an aggressive and homicidal side, rarely showing any fear and ruthlessly fighting anyone standing in his way. He is an exceptional gunman and is usually seen dual-wielding his weaponry with remarkable proficiency. His weapons of choice are automatic weapons such as a MAC-10-like pistol or the M16 rifle. Despite this, he has proven himself to be a very trustworthy friend and ally to those he does trust, betraying Daddy Dearest twice by sparing and even assisting BF when ordered to kill him. The slope rises slightly more steeply from the back before falling a little toward the front. He has white eyes with no pupils. He wears a purple hoodie with yellow sleeves and drawstrings, dark gray trousers, and white sneakers with yellow shoelaces, purple midsoles, and blue outsoles. The outsoles have the number "99" engraved on them, as shown in his kicking animation. A pair of bluish-gray headphones rest around his neck. He holds a blue lighter in his right hand and a bluish-gray microphone in his left hand. His idle animation has him tapping his left foot while bopping his head, and he wears a determined grin. Darnell's Personality: Darnell is a trigger-happy person who is characterized by his pyromaniac tendencies; he loves setting things on fire so much that he even goes as far as to burn down buildings to watch them burn for his own pleasure, giving him a near sadistic nature. Darnell is very intelligent and has a high intellect, as he is able to understand many things with little effort. Like Nene, Darnell appears to have some degree of selfishness, attacking his own friend Pico for the sake of money.

Otis's Appearance: Otis is a 19 years young man with light skin, messy ear-length black hair, and distinctive white eyes with no pupils like his cousin. His outfit consists of a blue sweater with long sleeves over a white button-up, grey jeans, and white sneakers with orangish-yellow accents. He also wears a lavender-white backpack. His idle animation depicts him bopping his head up and down while slouching on his knees, wielding 2 AK-47s.

Otis's Personality: With a love for skateboarding and Alien Hominid, Otis was described as being "wimpier" than his older cousin prior to the events of Pico's Cousin, but when faced with terrorists, he did not hesitate and immediately took action after picking up 2 guns from a trash bin, slowly but surely facing his fears and building up courage to make it out of the mall safe and sound, even when he had never held a gun before. He also has a meaner side of himself, acting foul-mouthed and rude towards people, not taking offense from anyone who steps his way.

Otis shows genuine care for his family, as he was willing to risk his life to save them from an alien invasion. He also doesn't like being deceived, as seen in the alternate ending to Pico's Cousin after finding out that the government staged the mall shooting, calling out the FBI agent that "saved" him for putting his life in danger in the first place.

Cassandra's Appearance: She has light skin, a mole on her right cheek, shoulder-length red hair with horn-like points at the front, with a shorter point situated between two that are taller, white eyes with no pupils, and sharp teeth. She wears a red sweater underneath a black jacket, along with black boots with red soles, gray plates on the toe caps, and bright yellow upside-down crosses on the sides. She also has long, sharp red nails and black ear piercings. She wields a TEC-9 in her right hand.

As a Penilian, Cassandra looks like every other member of her species. She has a towering stature, even compared to other Penilians. Her head has two horns protruding down with six horns on the side, and her eyes are reptilian-like. She is also scowling, just like in her human form, and has a penis between her crotch.

Cassandra's Pesonality: Superficially, Cassandra appears to be an aloof, angry goth kid who hates society and rules. In reality, Cassandra is a shapeshifting alien mastermind who merely manipulates social outcasts into doing her dirty work, and actively despises the goth culture that she mimics. Cassandra is cunning and manipulative, but also crass, foul-mouthed, arrogant, and impatient. Much like the rest of her species, she views herself as superior to humans. She also shows no respect for human life, even killing her own henchmen for no other reason than frustration after Pico makes it perfectly clear to her that he intends on stopping her rampage.

Despite her disdain for the human race and goth subculture, she genuinely enjoys goth and industrial music, declaring it "the best in all of time and space". She enjoys it so much that, when Pico expresses a mutual interest in it, it stops her from shooting up the school. This also seems to suggest that beneath her intimidating and conniving exterior, Cassandra is also very lonely and will jump at any chance to make a genuine connection with another person. She is also revealed to be a member of the furry fandom, asking to see if there's a museum dedicated to their artwork.

Daddy Dearest's Appearance: Daddy Dearest is a ex rockstar with a demonic-looking appearance with lavender skin, black eyes with red glowing pupils and grayish-lilac hair vaguely shaped like a demon's horns. He wears an open black suit jacket without a shirt that reveals his gray chest and pubic hair; black pants held by a belt with a golden buckle; black heeled dress shoes; and a silver watch on his left wrist. He has some stubble on his chin and wrinkles on his forehead.

Daddy Dearest's Personality: Daddy Dearest is selfish, cruel and uncaring, as he has attempted on multiple occasions to kill Boyfriend without caring about the consequences it will have on his daughter. As a performer, he is weirdly prideful and condescending. He also appears to be somewhat petty, as he hires Pico to kill BF after the latter beat him in a rap battle. However, he is not as ill-willed as his wife Mommy Mearest, who has been stated to be far worse than Daddy Dearest.

One time he let BF enter his home just to use a voodoo doll of BF to torture him just for fun, showing he enjoys the pain of others or BF in this case.

Mommy Mearest's Appearance: Mommy Mearest is a famous pop star with a demonic-looking appearance with purple skin, black eyes with red glowing pupils and long, volumized auburn hair with several pointed ends and a curved cowlick. She wears a form-fitting red dress underneath a black jacket, black thigh-high heel boots, a black garter belt, golden hoop earrings, a golden necklace and a pair of golden bracelets on each wrist. She has dark red lipstick on and sharp, red-painted fingernails.

Mommy Mearest's Personality: Mommy Mearest is a skilled pop singer who seems to be powerful in terms of both abilities and status. She is condescending and prideful as a performer, being even more evil than her husband. As a parent, she is just as overprotective as Daddy Dearest, if not more so, as she makes multiple attempts to put BF's life in danger because he is dating GF. It also shows that she is short-tempered, as she brutally stabs her husband with multiple knives for inadvertently knocking her music speakers into the bathtub and electrocuting her after throwing BF against the wall from using his a voodoo doll of BF.

Tankman's Appearance: Tankman is a soldier with a monochromatic color scheme; his helmet, uniform, gloves, pants and boots are black, while his skin, goggles and vest are white. On both of his arms are white corporal insignias, which distinguish him from the rest of the Tankman soldiers.

Tankman's Personality: Tankman is a rude and cruel individual, as he constantly insults anyone he encounters vulgarly with no sign of remorse, including his own comrades. He can also be short-tempered at times.

He has been shown to have a vulgar sense of humor as well, ofter cracking up phallic puns at any occasion.

He is often seen to be murderous, which is mostly due to his status as a soldier, as he usually kills or orders his soldiers to kill anyone who trespasses in his war zone, regardless of whether it was intentional or not.

He appears to enjoy doing things simply out of amusement, given that he did not attempt to kill BF or GF immediately, since their arrival gave him the opportunity to alleviate his boredom.

Senpai's Appearance: Senpai a 18 years old man with light skin, a constant blush, strawberry blonde hair, and wide blue eyes. He wears a partially tucked-in periwinkle blue button-up shirt, a loose pink tie, grayish-purple jeans held up by a black belt with a silver buckle, and grayish-purple shoes. He carries a brown backpack in his right hand over his shoulder.

Senpai's Personality: Senpai is normally a very polite and calm individual who typically speaks in a formal way, especially towards people he likes. However, he has a short temper and is a sore loser, becoming rude and speaking more vulgarly after losing. This sudden behavior change is explained as a result of Senpai's programming from the dating sim GF has being unable to handle a loss since he was only ever meant to be perfect.

Senpai has been described as a "generic pretty boy asshole" and is somewhat based on how people who are self-centered or toxic can be in real life. He may also be insecure, as he would be the kind of person who strips when no one asks him to, and when he isn't told that he looks awesome, he starts crying. He is also the type of person to have all sorts of prejudices, including being racist and anti-gay, and would call people slurs.

Spirit's Appearance: Spirit appears as a ghastly specter. His form takes the shape of a grotesque floating red face surrounded by a darker red aura. His face is depicted in an unsettlingly realistic fashion, with an expression that displays immense pain. Spirit is rather glitchy, as all of his movements are erratic and cause brief afterimages of himself to appear.

Spirit's Personality: Spirit is quite a vengeful individual, as he holds a grudge against Daddy Dearest for sealing him into the dating sim game and wants to get revenge by any means possible, even if it means at the cost of other people's happiness. He appears to have a twisted sense of justice, believing that "borrowing" other people's bodies would be "only fair" for him.

Monster's Appearance: Monster appears to be a demonic humanoid creature with a body mostly comprised of black scribbles apart from his neck, which is instead a violet-pink color. He has two stubs on each hand and foot. He has an oval light-yellow head with bumps on the sides, almost resembling a lemon, and bloodshot eyes with eerily large black pupils. He always has a wide, open smile with light-pink teeth that extrude from his mouth.

Monster's Personality: Monster is an eccentric and mysterious individual who craves the flesh and meat of humans as well as demons. He likes to sing about how he wants to kill and eat people, including children, in gruesome detail. He is willing to trick others to get what he wants, as shown when he deceived Skid and Pump in an attempt to get GF so that he could eat her. Monster has been described as being "just insane," and it has been hinted that he has not found inner peace.

Skid & Pump's Appearance: Skid and Pump are a duo of small children in Halloween costumes. Skid wears a skeleton costume consisting of a black outfit with white lines and circles representing bones and a skull-head mask with black markings around the mouth. Pump wears a pumpkin costume consisting of a black suit with a white shirt underneath, white gloves and a pumpkin head mask. He also has a little cape behind his back.

Skid and Pump without their costumes: Skid's appearance without his costume depicts him with ear-length, straight black hair and a circular head with black eyes. Pump, on the other hand, has curly brown hair and a long head with black eyes.

Skid & Pump's Personalities: Skid and Pump are rather childish and gullible, although Pump is more cautious. They love Halloween (which they call "Spooky Month") so much that they wear their costumes year-round and constantly spread the word about it, even when it isn't October. Their fun-having attitudes have risked them being kidnapped a couple of times and led to them encountering many shady people and/or supernatural beings (like demons, spirits and ghosts) around town without a thought to their safety. Their highly accepting behavior persists in Friday Night Funkin' when a certain lemon-like being tricks them for his gain.

Henchmen's Appearance: Henchmen all appear alike with light pink skin, a flattop haircut with a pair of horns and a deviously large grin that reveals a blue tongue. They also dress the same in mostly medium-dark cyan-blue clothing: open jackets with large, pointed shoulder pads, somewhat baggy pants, sneakers with white laces and a pair of much darker blue sunglasses.

Henchmen's Personality: Henchmen are unintelligent demons who are skilled at dancing and driving limousines. They are very obedient to Mommy Mearest, seemingly doing whatever they are told. They also seem to be quite upbeat, as they constantly wear a large, devious smile and enjoy grooving to the music when BF was rap battling Mommy Mearest on top of her limousine on moviment.

FNF's Timeline : Pre-Week 1: The rockstar Daddy Dearest meets Mommy Mearest, a popstar, possibly through the music business and have a daughter name GF. Daddy Dearest eventually retires from being a rockstar.

Around 14 years prior to the events of the game, Daddy Dearest seals away a person trying to impress his daughter, Girlfriend, inside her favorite dating sim video game. That person would come to be known as Spirit. Who he was or what his relation to Daddy Dearest remains unknown. Many other people who have crossed Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest are suggested to have suffered similar fates.

Boyfriend and Pico start dating, but they eventually break up. At some point, Boyfriend drops out of college to pursue a rap career, and he meets and falls in love with Girlfriend through fingerboard tricks.

Week 1: Daddy Dearest: Boyfriend has started dating Girlfriend, and the two are about to have sex. Daddy Dearest, Girlfriend's father, stops the couple before they can get freaky, as he does not welcome his daughter's new partner. Boyfriend has a sing-off with Daddy Dearest to decide whether or not he is worthy to date his love. Boyfriend emerges victorious, but it is made clear that Daddy Dearest will be keeping a close eye on them.

Week 2: Pico: After being humiliated by losing, Daddy Dearest is unable to come to terms with the defeat and thus hires a trio of contract killers, Pico, Darnell and Nene, to kill Boyfriend. Only Pico is sent for this mission, having been given a location for the target, which happens to be on the rooftop of the Newgrounds office building, but not the identity. Once Pico arrives at the specified destination, he realizes the target is Boyfriend, his ex-boyfriend. Out of nostalgia and old habits, Pico decides to challenge him to a rap battle instead of killing him. Darnell and Nene are not happy about their friend's failure to complete the task.

Week 3: Mommy Must Murder: Boyfriend has a rather dangerous sing-off with Girlfriend's popstar mother, Mommy Mearest, on top of moving limousines surrounded by Henchmen that act as backup dancers. Boyfriend wins, and with this victory, he is finally "accepted" into the family, but only so that the parents can keep their enemy close.

Week 4: Spooky Month: On Halloween night, Boyfriend is invited over to Girlfriend's family home to give out candy to trick-or-treaters. Skid and Pump pass by when Monster tricks them into retrieving Girlfriend for him. The spooky kids, wanting to play, agree to the plan. When the two arrive at the house, they challenge Boyfriend to a sing-off for Girlfriend as their "treat" if they win. Boyfriend wins the battle, but after the kids leave, Monster steps up to the challenge himself, threatening their lives in a gruesome song. However, he ultimately loses as well, and the couple lives.

The comic Smile Good, Boyfriend! seems to take place sometime after Week 2, as Boyfriend has been accepted by the parents and allowed into their home by this point.

Week 6: Red Snow: Boyfriend and Girlfriend take a nighttime trip to the mall around Christmas time to meet Mall Santa, but both Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest take the mall Santa hostage to have another sing-off with Boyfriend in front of a large crowd after BF win they kill Satan. However, Monster later crashes the sing-off and uses his demonic abilities to twist everyone's perception, causing the mall to look abandoned (except for Boyfriend and Girlfriend) and making the once bright location suddenly dark and gory. He challenges Boyfriend once more but is beat once again, leaving the two with their lives.

Week 7: Tankman: At some point, Daddy Dearest hires Pico, Darnell and Nene once again, this time to confirm Boyfriend's death. During the events of a week taking place before Week 7, Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest send Boyfriend and Girlfriend on a "vacation," when in reality, it was a plot to have Boyfriend killed. Pico, Darnell and Nene are sent to the "vacation spot" in secret, tasked with confirming that Boyfriend is dead and killing him if he is not. Boyfriend and Girlfriend are both secretly equipped with trackers that detect their life signatures as well, though her parents already knew Girlfriend would be fine. Suddenly, they fall off the plane they were on and end up in a desert. Regaining consciousness, the couple finds themselves in the company of Tankman and his army, who hold them both captive for trespassing the restricted military space. Meanwhile, Pico, Nene and Darnell take a van to the military zone, as Boyfriend's falling out of the plane made it uncertain that they could finish their jobs. The van breaks down in the middle of the desert, and friction starts to build between Pico and Nene. Once they arrive at their destination, Nene and Darnell are ecstatic to discover that Boyfriend has survived, as they can finish the job that was meant to be theirs.

Since their day has been going so slowly and to alleviate their boredom, Tankman decides to challenge Boyfriend to a sing-off instead of killing the couple on the spot. After being humiliated in battle twice, Tankman orders his men to open fire on Girlfriend. Just as she is about to unleash her demonic powers, however, Pico arrives on the battlefield in the nick of time to shoot down Tankman's army. Rather than sit idly and confirm Boyfriend's corpse like he was supposed to, Pico comes to his rescue and spares him. Boyfriend, now with Girlfriend at his side and Pico assisting him by single-handedly fending off the Tankmen, is challenged by Tankman one final time. He is ultimately defeated, and the trio survives.

Unfortunately for Pico, he's in deep trouble for failing his job twice.

WeekEnd 1: Due Debts: Pico is walking through Philadelphia, calmly eating a burger and drinking a soda. However, he soon notices that Nene is looking for him. Terrified, Pico hides behind a building. He is perfectly aware of why Darnell and Nene want to "deprive him of his bullets," as his failure to follow orders left the three without any pay. Pico checks his gun's reflection to see if Nene is still nearby sure enough, she is. Nene notices Pico and starts giving chase, throwing knives at him as they run through the alleyway. Pico, with his quick thinking, manages to slow down Nene. Happy to have escaped Nene's wrath, Pico accidentally hits his head after running into a decommissioned A-Bot. As he composes himself, he notices Darnell, who is spray painting. A rap battle between Pico and Darnell ensues, after which the two throw away their weapons and start a bare-knuckle fight. After the fight, Pico and Darnell reconcile with each other (Pico and Nene supposedly do so too, but it doesn't seem as noticeable as in Darnell's case), while Nene is still angry about the failure to assassinate Boyfriend.

Nene relationship with Pico: Nene and Pico have been stated to be friends, though their interactions have often been unpleasant, such as her begging him to kill her in Pico's School. In Resident Pico, she warns Pico about the zombies and tells him to run, showing that she does care about his safety. Pico: Pico and BF used to date, It is known that the reason for their breakup is "complicated," and it has been hinted that they sing together in the past, as Pico raps with Boyfriend due to nostalgia and old habits. It implies that Pico misses him in some way.
