Ruby Hoshino

Ruby Hoshino is the female protagonist and one of the titular characters of Oshi no Ko.

Her happy life ended when Ai was murdered by a deranged fan. Afterward, determined to fulfill her mother's dreams, she reformed Ai's idol group with the support of her friends.

Appearance : Ruby is a beautiful young girl of average height with orangish-blonde hair that she ties in a side ponytail (much like how her late mother Ai Hoshino does), resembling her Twin Brother Tom and possesses pink-ruby colored eyes with a six-star on her left eye like her late mother. As her idol career progresses, she comes to gain a six-star eye in her right eye as well and this becomes a permanent addition once she starts shining as brightly as Ai did on stage.

As a student in the Youtou High School's Performing Arts Program, she wore a white shirt adorned with a large ribbon tie and a gray, flowy skirt. Ruby also wears the black vest and the short dark blue jacket with golden stripes at the end of the sleeves and around the opening of the jacket. Her footwear also has white socks and burgundy penny loafers. Ruby describes the outfit as cute but difficult to put on.

Personality :

Ruby is the polar opposite of her brother, Tom as she is extroverted, outgoing, loud, optimistic and communicative compared to her brooding brother. She is most apparent in the connections she makes with others.

Initially, Ruby is extroverted, optimistic, and loud—a "walking sunshine" personality. However, her character shifts as she becomes more ambitious and vengeful, occasionally revealing a darker, more manipulative side while pursuing her idol dreams.

Ruby's vivacious charm sets her apart from everyone else. She is incredibly sociable, always greeting people with warmth and enthusiasm. Her bubbly nature makes her approachable to many, including classmates and seniors whom she looks up to for guidance. Despite this optimistic exterior, Ruby possesses an intense ambition that drives her towards achieving greatness as an idol – much like her late mother Ai. This ambitious streak often unveils a more manipulative and cunning side of Ruby that she uses strategically in pursuit of her aspirations.

While Ruby embodies all of the above traits, her deeper connection with her brother, Tom, transcends mere sibling bonds. The shared pain of losing their mother has brought the twins even closer than before. Their relationship surpasses simple familial love; Ruby harbors true affection and love for Tom that extends beyond sisterly bond boundaries.
