   The Metaverse is the physical realm composed of the human unconsciousness. It is the main setting of the MARA tournament. This world contains vile entities known as shadows. Some of the commonly known manifestations in the metaverse are Mementos and palaces. Personas can only be summoned in the Metaverse as well.

   Keys: Shadow

   Shadows are the monsters that lurk the Metaverse. They are the accumulation of the suppressed thoughts of every human. They are often shrouded by masks, which can be ripped off to ambush them. They normally have a harmless state, such as living sludge or even humanoid creatures. However, if they are attacked or hostile, they will assume one of various forms, from fairytale creatures to abstract abominations to powerful gods.

   "A shadow self is a powerful shadow that is born from the consciousness of a human from the regular world. Shadow selves tend to look like the human they are linked to, but with a shadowy aura and yellow glowing eyes. However, persona users are incapable of having genuine shadow selves.

   Keys: MetaNav, Meta Navigation

   The MetaNav is a phone app that only a few chosen humans hold. This is the only way to enter the Metaverse at all. Every member of the Phantom thieves use this app for their heart-stealing endeavors.

5. #5Persona

   Keys: Persona, personas

   A persona is an spiritual guardian that can be summoned through a variety of means. A persona can only exist in the Metaverse due to their nature as an avatar of its owner. Personas gain various spells and attacks as the grow stronger. Personas come in various forms, such as support or combat. Humans with the ability to summon personas are known as persona users. Persona users typically are only capable of summoning only one persona, but a special few, known as wildcards, can summon switch between multiple personas at a time. Persona users come in a variety of appearances and abilities.

   Keys: Wildcard, Wild Card

   A Wild Card is a special type of persona-user who is capable of holding multiple personas at a time, and summoning each one when the time calls for it. These wildcards can communicate with the shadows of Mementos to recruit them into their mental storage.

   Keys: palace, palaces

   A palace is a large concentration of distortions that exist throughout the Metaverse. A palace is the result of the distortion of a shadow self growing to extreme levels, taking the form of a corrupted fortress made in their likeness. Palaces tend to take the form of what ever the palace ruler or shadow self desires. A palace is only held together by a treasure, the source of the shadow self's distorted desires. If the treasure is stolen, the palace will implode.

   Keys: Treasure, distorted desires

   A treasure is an object that rests within a palace. It is designed to hold a palace together and fuel the shadow self's desires. It is the source of a shadow self's desires. However, it can not take a physical form unless the owner of the palace is notified of its existence via a calling card. This shall make it materialized specifically.

   Keys: Phantom Thieves, Phantom Thief

   The Phantom Thieves of Hearts are a group of persona-users who saved the world from the god of control, Yaldabaoth, and his influence on the public unconscious. They are leader by their leader, Joker. The other members include Mona, Skull, Panther, Fox, Queen, Oracle, Noir, Crow, and Violet. They summon personas through their masks.

    Keys: Kurusu, Ren, Amamiya, Joker, Akira

    Ren Amamiya/Akira Kurusu, also known as Joker, is the leader of the Phantom Thieves. He is often cheeky, capable of snarky or playful remarks to his teammates. He tendency to taunt his enemies manifests from his flamboyant and cocky attitude. He has a sense of justice and determination, dead set on his goals. He fights with a dagger and a pistol. His main persona is the stylish Arsene. He is a wildcard user. Ren Amamiya appears as a tall young man of slim to athletic build. He has a pale complexion with unkempt, wavy black hair that falls over his eyes. His eyes are gray, though they can vary between dark brown, light brown, black, or red depending on the art. He has long eyelashes. Despite his messy hair and slouched posture, he wears all of his clothes primly and properly. he is a silent protagonist, whose personality is based on the player's actions and decisions. However, he appears to have more established traits than any of the previous protagonists. His dialogue options range from somewhat indifferent to outright cheeky. The game allows for quite a number of playful, snarky or audacious answers, including teasing his friends. He also taunts his enemies like the famed Arsène Lupin. In the prologue scene, he remains cocky and confident even when his life is in danger. He also has a flair for showing off and making dramatic decisions

11. #11Kitty

    Keys: Mona, Morgana

    Morgana is an anthropomorphic tuxedo cat-like creation of Igor. However, he reverts to a housecat outside of Mementos. Morgana exhibits cat-like qualities, although he does have morality and intelligence. He has romantic feelings of Ann. He has a moody, yet dignified personality that often clashes with Ryuji. He wields a cutlass and slingshot, alongside his persona, Diego. In the Metaverse, Morgana is an anthropomorphic and biped tuxedo cat-like creature with a large spheroidal head. His fur is predominantly black, except on his limbs and tail which appear white. The bottom front half of his face or his mouth is also white. In spite of this, Morgana is referred to as a "black cat." Morgana has an arrogant, conceited personality, much to the annoyance of most other members of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. He is especially outspoken and can make fun of others, especially Ryuji and the protagonist. He can be rather demeaning towards the two, making fun of them and treating them both like little kids at times. Especially in combat, Morgana shows off and acts more masculine than he naturally is.

12. #12Kitty persona

    Keys: Morgana's persona, Diego, Mona's persona

    Diego is the ultimate persona of Mona. It resembles a humanoid with a comedically massive upper body and skinny legs. He wields a rapier and a cape around his shoulders. Diego uses his Garu skills to assault enemies while healing his team with Dia spells. His ultimate skill, miracle rush, allows him to skill all foes, staggering them with ease.

13. #13Ryuji

    Keys: Skull, Ryuji, Sakamoto

    Ryuji Sakamoto is a short-tempered, mischievous competitive runner. He is straightforward about his feelings and is not afraid to speak his mind. He is kind-hearted and altruistic man who cares for those around him. He wields a bat and a shotgun, along with his persona, William Kidd. Ryuji has short spiky dyed blond hair and dark brown eyes. According to Sadayo Kawakami, his hair is naturally black. He has a noticeable widow's peak and his eyebrows are unusual in that he lacks the outer sides. He is shown to be muscular. Ryuji is known as a disruptive "problem student" at school whose bad behavior causes all sorts of trouble for the teachers. He is quite proud of his status as a self-proclaimed "troublemaker" and his rebellious, mischievous and disobedient nature are the perfect qualities to be a Phantom Thief. He is sometimes vulgar and aggressive, as shown in his early interactions with the protagonist, Yusuke Kitagawa and Makoto Niijima. He is also rather short-tempered, easily taking offense from even the slightest of comments, making him resort to trying to be threatening.

14. #14Ryuji persona

    Keys: Ryuji's persona, Skul's persona, William, William Kidd

    William Kidd is the ultimate persona of Ryuji. It takes the form of a skeletal entity with a massive cape, a blaster for a hand, and goggles riding upon a mini yacht. William is capable of shooting foes with Zio skills, but prefers to strike them with an array of swings and Swift Strikes. He can empower his allies with Fighting Spirit.

15. #15Ann

    Keys: Takamaki, Panther, Ann

    Ann Takamaki is a kind, compassionate, yet air-headed model who is thinks for her self, free from the pressure of the opinion of others. She is good friends with Ryuji, even exchanging playful jabs at each other. She has a massive sweet tooth, favoring crepes above almost anything else. Ann uses whips and submachine guns as a weapon. Her persona is Celestine.Ann has wavy platinum blonde hair that is styled in bushy pigtails with parted side bangs on the right side of her face where she accessorizes with a single yellow hair clip above her left ear as well as small circular earrings on both ears and bright blue eyes. She is of mixed ethnicity: her surname is Japanese, and her profile mentions she is 1/4 American. She is a relatively tall young woman, standing taller than both Haru Okumura and Makoto Niijima, who are both a full year older than her.

    Ann is a very kind and compassionate girl, enough for it to be noted by both Morgana and Sojiro Sakura. Years of isolation due to her looks have left her very withdrawn, with the belief that she's lost her place in the world, but this hasn't stopped her from opening up to the people close to her and have fun. She's able to press on without caring about

    Celestine is the ultimate persona of Ann Takamaki. It resembles a woman with two massive ponytails, bubble gum, a torn jacket and a foxlike snout. Celestine uses Agi skills to incinerate enemies with powerful flames. Her special ability is High Energy, which empowers her allies.

17. #17Yusuke

    Keys: Fox, Kitagawa, Yusuke

    Yusuke is an artist whose entire passion is surrounded by art. He seeks for the aesthetic everywhere in his surroundings, seeking to broaden his horizons. His mannerisms come of as eccentric to many others, although he is level-headed and mature nonetheless. Yusuke wields a katana and uses assault rifles. His persona is Gorokichi.

    Keys: Fox's persona, Yusuke's persona, Goemon, Gorokichi

    Gorokichi is the ultimate persona of Yusuke. It resembles a humanoid entity with a massive fur coat, a cigar, golden chains, and sunglasses. Gorokichi keeps Yusuke's enemies on ice with his Bufu skills, while also cutting them apart with Brave Blade and Vorpal Blade. His signature move, Hyakka Ryouran, allows him to strengthen his allies and himself for three minutes, although it brings debilitating fatigue.

19. #19Makoto

    Keys: Nijima, Queen, Makoto

    Makoto Nijima is a serious college student and sister of Sae Nijima. She is somewhat of a tomboy due to her knowledge of aikido and her love for action movies. Makoto, while kind, can be bossy and critical of those who do not live up to her expectations. She is an excellent analytic and strategist who is capable of making excellent deductions. Makoto mainly uses Tekko and revolvers for weapons. Her persona is Agnes. Makoto has brown hair in a bob cut with blunt bangs and a French-braid styled headband that matches her hair color. Her eyes are abnormal as they have been depicted as red, although her eye color in her portraits can be interpreted as a reddish-brown. She is of average female height, being taller than Futaba Sakura and Haru Okumura, but slightly shorter than Ann Takamaki. Despite her position as student council president, Makoto is an extremely unpopular student at Shujin Academy. This is because she didn't do anything to stop Suguru Kamoshida's abuse, resulting in all the students labeling her as an arrogant, selfish control freak who knew about the abuse but chose to ignore it because she only cared about getting a good letter of recommendation, and the Phantom Thieves initially assume her as such.

20. #20Makato persona

    Keys: Queen's persona, Makoto's persona, Agnes

    Agnes is the ultimate persona of Makoto Nijima. It resembles a large, roofless motorcycle with golden spikes. It uses Frei magic to obliterate enemies, while using its body to slam into foes. Its ultimate skill is Checkmate, which cripple's the enemy's perform in exchange for a lot of mana.

21. #21Nerd

    Keys: Futaba, Oracle, Navi, Sakura

    Futaba Sakura is a young, quirky student and member of the Phantom Thieves. She is a hacker with a rather blunt personality who nonchalantly hijacks equipment. She is obsessed with video games and computers. She has a fondness for cats, and can be quite perverted around other teammates. Futaba is a navigator with the persona Al Azif. Futaba is a young girl with hip-length black hair dyed bright orange, with straight-cut bangs and two long strands in the front along with a single small, thin strand at the top. Her brown eyes also seem to have some faint purple tones in them, appearing mauve. She wears large black circular glasses, and is almost always seen wearing a set of AKG K845BT headphones with red ear cushions. She seems to be very short, even compared to other girls. With a case of social anxiety bordering on agoraphobia developed from the trauma of losing her mother Wakaba Isshiki, combined with her generally introverted personality, Futaba is strongly uncomfortable with going outside.

22. #22Nerd persona

    Keys: Futaba's persona, Al Azif, Oracle's persona, Navi's persona

    Al Azif is the ultimate persona of Futaba Sakura. It takes the form of an almost robotic tetrahedron with various lights. The persona serves as a vehicle, with Futaba residing inside the entity as she analyzes the battlefield for her allies. While Futaba is mostly a navigator, Al Azif is capable of producing bombs.

23. #23Haru

    Keys: Noir, Okumura, Haru

    Haru Okumura is a college student with an incredibly kind-hearted and gentle demeanor. She enjoys tending to her garden, along with watching horror movies. However, she seems to be somewhat of a sadist, mainly due to her joy of cutting down enemies with her axe. Haru also wields a grenade launcher, and her persona, Lucy, is sure to mow down anything in her path. Haru has chin-length curly light auburn hair and brown eyes. She is of average height, being taller than Futaba, but shorter than Ann and Makoto.

    Lucy is the ultimate persona of Haru Okumura. She resembles a faceless woman with an extravagant dress and a suitcase. While Lucy can bombard enemies attacks like one-shot kill, she is also capable of using Psi skills and generate protective barriers. She can cast Life Wall, a combination of tetrakarn and makarakarn.

25. #25Goro

    Keys: Goro, Crow, Akechi

    Goro Akechi is the Detective Prince and former member of the Phantom Thieves. He is an highly intelligent and charismatic man who is secretly straightforward. While he is still polite, he does show a more sadistic side when under the guise of the Black Mask, deriving pleasure from destroying his enemies. He wields a serrated sword, alongside a silenced pistol. His persona, Herewald, allows him to give enemies a cruel end. Akechi has shaggy, neck length brown hair with bangs and reddish-brown eyes. He wears a tan peacoat with black buttons, striped black and white tie, black pants, black gloves and black loafers. His casual winter outfit consists of a white long sleeve shirt with flaps under a blue argyle sweater vest, beige pants and brown shoes. In public and with all of his relations, Akechi appears to be well-mannered, friendly, humble and charismatic. His achievement of being a high-school detective, coupled with his handsome features, makes him highly popular among the general public and he is commented to be "The Second Coming of the Detective Prince." His intelligence and smooth-talk earned him enough trust from the police

    Herewald is the ultimate persona of Goro Akechi. Heresembles a massive, black entity covered in dark armor. He wields a massive bow, capable of piercing through enemies with ease. He strikes foes with eiha and megido skills, swiftly extinguishing their lives with skills such as riot gun.

27. #27Sumire

    Keys: Violet, Yoshizawa, Sumire

    Sumire is a reserved and introverted gymnast who is easily flustered in pressuring situations. However, with the Phantom Thieves, she behaves much more confidently and focused. She fights with grace and precision, similar to her gymnastics. Her weapon is a rapier, and she uses a rifle at long distances. Her persona is Ella. Sumire Yoshizawa has long red hair tied into a ponytail with a red ribbon bow or a green, checkered ribbon instead with bangs over her forehead, matching red eyes, pink lips and fair skin. She wears a Shujin Academy wintertime uniform with black pantyhose and red loafers. Her summertime school uniform is modified; she wears a white dress shirt under a beige button-down sweater with vertical lines, white socks with black lining and orange loafers Sumire Yoshizawa is a cheerful, elegant and friendly person with a seemingly perfect life, as she received a Shujin scholarship and was (supposedly) nearly uncontested in gymnastic competitions. She also appears to be quite clumsy and careless, as she is shown outright missing the mark at the batting cages even if her reflexes are usually excellent, and she lets her phone's battery run out while texting the protagonist. Despite the fact that she can cook, she is unpredictable and somewhat awkward at it, since she isn't sure about the ingredients, and she often uses stamina replenishing food due to her gymnast tendencies. She has high metabolism, and as such can put away a large amount of food and still ask for seconds.

    Ella is the ultimate persona of Sumire Yoshizawa. It resembles a woman wearing a white dress, holding a bouquet of flowers, a ring of flowers on her head, and a large veil which flows from her head like hair. Ella mainly uses kouha spells to burn enemies with light, while assaulting them with powerful kicks. Her special skill, Masquerade, allows her to strike enemies twice.

    A mask refers to the special headgear that some persona-users, such as the Phantom Thieves, use to summon their personas. The users generally summon their personas by ripping the mask off, ready to reveal their true selves. However, Shadows also possess masked forms before they transform.

    Mementos is deemed the palace of every human being, mainly resembling a subway station. This dungeon is absolutely filled to the brim with shadows.

    The casino is a colorful place where shadows go to bet their cash and win big. Play in a variety of games that will make sure to drain you of every cent. No, the money is not real. This casino is a relic of Sae's palace, home to a woman who will screw the odds to ensure victory. A treasure lies within the most secured area of the casino.

    Keys: Maruki's palace, Lab

    The lab is a massive palace where shadows and other people go to relieve their stress and worries. Despite being absolutely full of shadows, they don't seem hostile compared to the rest. This palace is a relic of Maruki's design, a man who merely wanted to end all sorrow in the world, even if it meant rejecting reality. The treasure, a torch, resides in this dungeon.

    Keys: Lavenza

    Lavenza is the youngest attendant of the Velvet Room. She is a mature and polite girl. She loses patience easily, resorting to casting Megidolaon when frustrated. She respects her order siblings, Elizabth, Theodore, and Margaret. She seems to have a crush of Joker. As a Velvet Attendant, Lavenza possess power that surpasses most persona-users, fighting with a chainsaw and uses a massive assortment of personas from her book, however, she favors Pixie and Atavaka.

    A much stronger version of bufu, capable of generating strong blasts of ice or conjure icicles. Its targets can be frozen by the skill afterwards.

    Keys: Mabufudyne, Bufudyne

    One of the strongest ice spells that is capable of generating frigid air capable of freezing an enemy solid in a block of ice.

36. #36Psi wave

    Keys: Psi, Mapsi

    Psi is the basic spell for psychic skills. It is capable of inducing psychic waves at enemies.

37. #37Telepath

    Keys: Mapsio, Psio

    A stronger version of psychokinesis. It allows the user to lift objects and people telepathically and summon orbs of psychic energy.

    Keys: Psiodyine, Mapsiodyne

    One of the strongest psychic spells, capable of generating an unrivalled telekinetic force.

    Frei is the basic spell for nuclear skills. It allows the user to generate small explosions to damage enemies.

    Freila is a stronger variant of nuclear magic which is capable of generating larger explosions with atomic power.

    One of the strongest variants of nuclear magic, capable of generating massive explosions to damage enemies through nuclear power.

    Kouha is the basic skill of blessing magic. It allows users to cast small glimmers of light to damage foes.

    Kouga is a stronger bless skill, emitting bright light for spells like conjuring needles made of light to strike enemies.

    One of the strongest variants of the bless spell line, with the ability to generate a large amount of light to purify foes. One version of Kougaon would be a pillar of light.

    Hama is one of the basic blessing spells with a small chance to instantly defeat any foe it is casted on. It is very easy to dodge and it may not even do anything most of the time. It is useful for setting up traps to subdue an enemy.

    One of the strongest variants of hama skills. Hamaon is not only a larger area of light, but it has half a chance of defeating an enemy. However, it is still likely to miss or do nothing.

    Eiha is the basic spell for the cursed skill tree. It is capable of generating weak, yet evil energies to strike foes.

    The stronger variant of the curse skill line. It can generate powerful blasts of curse energy.

    One of the strongest variants of the curse spell and is capable of drowning enemies in darkness.

    Keys: mamudo, Mudo

    Mudo is a basic instakill curse spell. While it can instant defeat foes, it is likely to backfire and can be easily dodged. It creates a cloud of darkness that attempts to knockout enemies. The mudo skill line goes like this: mudo, mamudo, mudoon, and mamuddon.
