He works for Home Trucking in Texas, where he lives although he is from Tennessee. Part of the reason he refuses gas money is because he has a company credit card that pays for meals, motel rooms in winter as Wally prefers to sleep in the cab's sleeper in the summer and spring and autumn, and gas.
