Kamina is tall and well built, and prides herself on being manly and tough. She has long blue, spiky hair and is frequently seen wearing her trademark red sunglasses that cover her red eyes. Her skin is tan, and she has blue-ish tattoos along both of her arms which extend to her shoulders and her upper back. As she holds her sword with her, her symbol of rebellion.

At first glance, Kamina is boisterous, hotheaded, and confident to the point of arrogance. She demands recognition and craves greatness, proudly calling herself “the Mighty Kamina” and delivering her signature catchphrase, “Just who the Hell do you think I am?!” She’s an undeterred idealist, often to the point of recklessness; Yoko once described her as “a woman of unlimited stupidity.” Kamina is also quite flirtatious, declaring that the urge to appreciate beautiful people is part of what makes life worth living.

However, Kamina is fiercely determined and refuses to stay down for long. Even learning that her father had died only left her quiet for a night or two (at least outwardly). She is deeply devoted to protecting her friends and loved ones, fighting with all her strength to keep them safe. In the heat of battle, her charisma shines, inspiring even the timid Simon to accomplish incredible feats and laying the foundation for Team Dai-Gurren almost single-handedly.

Despite her wild and seemingly reckless behavior, Kamina is more insightful than she appears. Her bold confidence often hides her sharp mind for strategy and combat. She has even admitted that her bravado and fearlessness are tools to mask her own fears and keep others motivated, believing that people like Simon are the true heroes. She has made it clear that her fight against the Beastmen was never about personal glory or revenge, but about creating a world free from fear for future generations. Though she sometimes acts without thinking, she does possess a strong sense of practicality—such as pointing out that fleeing from Dai-Gunzan would leave them exposed to attack. All in all, Kamina’s personality is far more layered than her outward behavior might suggest.
