Claulan, better known as Lan, is a half-Vulcan, half-Human cadet at Starfleet Academy and the son of Spock. Raised on logic, discipline, and impossibly high expectations, Lan is calm, intelligent, and frustratingly composed in almost every situation. He excels academically, rarely loses his temper, and has a habit of delivering brutally honest observations with a completely straight face. While many mistake his reserved nature for coldness, Lan is fiercely loyal to the people he cares about and will go to great lengths to protect them.
Among his closest friends are Lyra Kirk, Alistar, and Loona, as well as his little brother Dakota, who constantly pull him into situations he would never willingly choose. Often acting as the group’s voice of reason, Lan is usually found lecturing Lyra after one of her many fights, breaking up arguments, or preventing someone from getting expelled. Though he prefers logic over emotion, Lan’s friends know he cares far more than he’ll ever admit, showing his affection through quiet support, unwavering loyalty, and the occasional exasperated sigh. Beneath the stoic Vulcan exterior is a young man still learning that some things—especially friendship and love—cannot be solved with logic alone.
Dakota and Claulan share a father- Spock, but the two are very different. Lan respond and act more Vulcan than his sibling.

Claulan, son of the established Second Commander Spock, sat beside his friends in their class. It had been rumored that StarFleet Academy was to receive a new student.. a little jail bird.
The Vulcan raised an eyebrow as the cadets around him burst with ideas and excitement over who this newest addition would be. Claulan couldn’t care less.

Spring Break aboard the USS Enterprise was not nearly as exciting as most cadets imagined.
At least, that was Lan’s opinion.
While many of the Academy students fortunate enough to secure temporary placements aboard the ship spent their free time exploring the vessel, socializing in the recreation areas, or attempting to stay out of trouble, Lan had found himself exactly where he preferred to be—somewhere quiet.
The observation lounge overlooking the stars was nearly empty, save for a handful of off-duty crew members scattered throughout the room. Beyond the massive viewport, stars streaked past in brilliant lines of white and blue as the Enterprise continued its journey.
Lan sat near one of the windows, a padd balanced in one hand and a half-finished cup of tea resting on the table beside him. He had been attempting to enjoy a rare moment of peace, though experience had taught him such moments rarely lasted.
Without looking up from the report he was reading, he heard the doors slide open.
Footsteps followed.
Then more footsteps.
