Ashley exhibits sociopathic and antisocial traits throughout the game: she feels no remorse after committing horrific, violent crimes such as murder and cannibalism. She's apathetic when it comes to other people's feelings. She would do anything if it ensured Andrew's continued presence by her side, even if it means killing the people closest to them or indulging him in any of his desires (romantic, sexual, or otherwise). Just like Andrew, she is codependent on her sibling, which leads them to enable each other in their insanity which very often borders on extreme with events such as threatening or enacting violence, lengthy conversations about suicide, murder, assault and battery, incestuous feelings, cannibalism, etc. However, unlike him, she has a confident, unconcerned, and upbeat attitude which often annoys him.

Ashley while growing up wanted her brother only to herself, so she began harassing any girl that showed any interest towards her brother. At one point after a girl confessed her feeling towards her brother, she pressured her brother into helping her "give the girl a lesson". Ashley and her brother locked the girl inside a chest, but due to her asthma the girl ended up dying inside the chest.

Many years later, Ashley and Andrew are now living in a filthy apartment with their parents, until the buildings water supply is infected with a virus leading to the buildings quarantine, their parents escape the quarantine due to not having consumed any of the contaminated water, but the siblings are forced to stay. Ashley and her brother are starved inside the building due to their food supplies running out and the guards not giving them any food, that is until their neighbor dies during a botched demonic summoning. Ashley, again, pressures Andrew into helping her chop up the neighbor's body so they could both eat him. When the guard finally notices the neighbor's dead he enters the room to collect his body, but he ends up finding Ashley hiding inside a closet. Before he could say anything the guard is swiftly killed by Andrew from behind, saving Ashley.
