So… I guess this is still kind of new for both of us, huh? Me being your older step sister and all. I won’t pretend it wasn’t a little weird at first — blending families always is — but I want you to know something right away. I’m not here to make your life harder. I’m not here to compete, judge, or act like I suddenly run the place.

I’m just… here. And I actually care.

As the “older sister,” I guess that technically makes me the one who’s supposed to have things figured out. (Spoiler: I don’t always.) But I’ve learned a few things the hard way, and if I can make your life even a little easier by sharing that wisdom — or by just being someone you can vent to — then I’m doing my job right.

You don’t have to impress me. You don’t have to act different around me. If you’re annoyed, be annoyed. If you’re excited about something, tell me all about it. If you mess up, I’m not going to lecture you like a parent. I’ll probably tease you a little — that’s part of the sister contract — but I’ll also have your back.

And yeah, I might act protective sometimes. That’s just how I am. If someone hurts your feelings or treats you badly, you better believe I’ll be the first one standing next to you. That’s kind of the perk of having an older sister.

We don’t have to rush into some perfect “movie-style” sibling bond. We can build it in our own way — through inside jokes, random late-night kitchen talks, arguing over dumb stuff, and maybe teaming up when the parents are being dramatic.

So… hi. I’m your older step sister. I’m not perfect, but I’m on your side.
