1. #1Alpha

   Alphas are able to impregnate omegas and female betas. Approximately 30% of the entire population are alphas. Female alphas have a penis that is generally smaller than a male alpha's, their testicles are internal rather than external like a male alpha, female alphas also do not have wombs or vaginas. One of the few things that can separate a masculine alpha from a feminine alpha is the presence of breasts and their ability to lactate; while everyone could lactate with some medication and supplements, female alphas can lactate with far less work and have a much higher milk production than males of any sex. Alphas like the other sexes have an eutrus cycle, coined as a "rut". A healthy rut cycle is once every two months and lasts for three to seven days. Prolonged use of full rut suppressants and rut blockers after stopping the medication can cause the rut to be more difficult to deal with and last longer, how it directly affects the alpha is subjective to their standard rut cycles. Outside factors like stress, mental and physical health, and environment can affect all physical aspects of a rut. there are a few main symptoms of ruts to look out for: heightened senses (heightened taste and smell makes things they like be beyond amazing but something they might be neutral on normally they might absolutely hate during their ruts, heightened hearing and sight can cause outside stimulation be downright painful to them causing headaches, heightened touch makes everything feel different and far more sensitive to textures and actions than before); alphas tend to react more to actions that could be seen as aggressive or threatening, they tend to lash out and get defensive (Contrary to popular belief alphas in ruts WILL NOT seek out fights or get into territory disputes while in rut unless it actively threatens them, their pack, or their mate(s)); Alphas will begin to make a space that's comfortable, safe, and easily defendable for their pack or sub-pack to retreat into during their rut, similar to an omega’s nest and a beta’s burrow, alphas have dens. Contrary to popular belief, ruts are not always sexual. Until an alpha’s body feels they’re in a place physically and mentally to have sexual ruts they will have entirely nonsexual ruts. Which is entirely the same but without the urge to mate or the sex drive. The sexual form of an alpha’s estral cycle is usually signified by the alpha being easily aroused and denning in a way that would fit only one or a few mates rather than their whole packs and/or family. They’ll begin to den in a way that is meant to be cosy and protective but far more of a display to impress their potential mate(s) rather than solely as a functional hiding hole. alphas have knotted penises designed to lock the alpha with their mate during sex. outside of ruts these knots are much smaller. a mated alpha will have a bigger knot for their mate(s). Alphas are generally stereotyped as more stocky and roughly built, more aggressive, thrill seekers, and assholes. These are just that, stereotypes. Actual alpha behaviours that appear for more alphas than not, are that alphas are protective and defensive, caretakers happily letting themselves get ordered around by their mates because they like it when they're needed by their mates, however alphas typically are still headstrong and stubborn for anyone but their mates.

2. #2Beta

   Betas are able to become pregnant if they are a female beta or impregnate if they are a male beta. Betas make up the remaining 40% of the population. Similar to alphas male betas will have a rut, it isn't quite as pronounced as an alpha’s rut and they do not have knots. Similarly to omegas, female betas will have heats, those are also very light when compared to omegas. Betas are generally stereotyped into being boring and bland in comparison to omegas and alphas, for having duller estrus cycles. Female betas were seen as worthless when compared to omegas and male betas were seen as a dull substitute for an alpha. They were like the daily plates you would use and wash in the dishwasher, it didn't matter if you broke one there was always another just like it. Actual beta behaviours that appear for more betas than not, are that they are able to adapt to an alpha or an omega partner easily, they're flexible and always ready to adapt to whatever they need to.

Male omegas have vaginas and wombs rather than a penis and testicles, they also do not have active breast tissue and require supplements and medication to lactate, they do not produce a lot of milk making bottle feeding more common in mate groups with only male omegas, if present females of any of the three sexes might step in to breast feed. an omega's estrus cycle often called a "heat", similarly to alphas' ruts, heats happen once every two months, a heat cycle lasts three days to seven days. Prolonged use of heat suppressants/blockers can cause the heat after stopping the medication to be more difficult to deal with and last longer, how roughly it affects the omega depends on their typical cycles. Outside factors like stress, mental and physical health, and environment can affect this. there are a few main symptoms of heats to look out for: heightened senses (identically to alphas); omegas tend to react more threateningly to actions that could be seen as aggressive or threatening, they tend to lash out and get defensive (Contrary to popular belief omegas in heat tend to be the ones who are more aggressive during their cycles, even if a threat isn't actively threatening them, their pack, or their mate(s)); Omegas will begin to make a space that's comfortable, safe, and easily defendable for their pack or sub-pack to retreat into during their rut. Similar to an alpha’s den and a beta’s burrow, omegas have nests. Contrary to popular belief, heats are not always sexual. Until an omega’s body feels they’re in a place to have sexual heats they will have entirely nonsexual heats. Which is near entirely the same but without the urge to mate or the sex drive. The sexual form of an omega’s estral cycle is usually signified by the omega being easily aroused and nesting in a way that would fit only one or a few mates rather than their whole packs and/or family. Omegas during their heat cycles will have raised body temperatures and produce more slick, a natural biological lubricant. they may experience some pain and cramps leading up to their heats from their bodies preparing to be impregnated. Omegas are generally stereotyped as more thin and delicately shaped, docile, submissive, and weaker. These are just that, stereotypes. Omegas were stereotyped this way to make them seem delicate and subservient to alphas, however they were held to much nicer standards than betas. Omegas were like the fine dining plates you hand washed and kept in a safe place until you wanted to show them off. however, actual omega behaviours that appear for more omegas than not, are that they are protective and willing to defend their packs and things they care about with everything that they have.

Prolonged use of heat suppressants/blockers can cause the heat after stopping the medication to be more difficult to deal with and last longer, how roughly it affects the omega depends on their typical cycles. Outside factors like stress, mental and physical health, and environment can affect this. The change in scent brought by a heat indicates a high probability for pregnancy. The omega experiences heightened arousal and increased fertility during their heat. In general, they experience their first heat between 12 and 18 years old. An omega in heat could trigger a rut in an alpha, these ruts tend to be much lighter and never as hindering as a normal rut. Often referred to as “Pseudo-ruts”. If an alpha is already partial to an omega in a romantic or sexual way an omega going into heat will affect them more than if not. If acted upon by the alpha and the omega, the alpha may go into a full rut with the omega. If an omega who is a part of the alpha’s platonic pack or family goes into heat, the alpha may begin to show signs of a nonsexual rut and begin to act more protective over the omega, keeping them safe and well taken care of.

Similar to an omega’s nest and a beta’s burrow, alphas have dens.

   Betas will make a space that's comfortable, safe, and easily defendable for their pack or sub-pack to retreat into and spend time in and out of heat. Mates and packs might have various small dens, nests, and burrows around the main house, they might combine everything into one big communal one, or have a mix of both large and small. Burrows typically are fully encased with a hidden entrance. Similar to an alpha’s den and an omega's nest, betas have burrows.

   Omegas will make a space that's comfortable, safe, and easily defendable for their pack or sub-pack to retreat into and spend time in and out of heat. Mates and packs might have various small dens, nests, and burrows around the main house, they might combine everything into one big communal one, or have a mix of both large and small. Nests typically are fully surrounded by plush walls of varying heights for however the omega is feeling, with a floor but no roof. Similar to an alpha’s den and a beta’s burrow, omegas have nests.

9. #9Scenting

   Keys: scent marking, scenting, scented, scent marked

   Scent marking is the practice of rubbing one's scent gland against another person's body, or an object. This leaves a trace of the marker's scent onto its recipient, which other people can smell. It is usually done as a sign of affection, protection or possession. It is considered highly inappropriate to scent mark people who aren't one's family, close friends, or mates. People have the urge to scent mark their close friends, their family, and their lovers.

10. #10Scents

    Scents are specific to each person and may change overtime as they grow and change as a person. generally, Betas will have a much softer scents and it’s usually more subtle (strawberries and cream, fresh bread, a fall breeze, the smell of sauteing onions); Omegas will have sweeter scents or some sort of sweetness attached to it (campfires and smores, chocolate, iced coffee, fruit, pastries); Alphas often have more intense emotion evoking scents (forests, ocean, ozone, dark roast coffee, leather, paper, ink). Scents convey a lot typically you can smell the difference between alphas, omegas, and betas; what a person is feeling; if someone is pregnant or not; and if they're close too, coming out of, or in an estrus cycle.

11. #11Glands

    Scent glands were for establishing territory, finding a mate, mating, and telling another person's intentions at a glance. There are glands on the neck and shoulder, wrists, and inner thighs. there is also mating gland that extends from just below the ears and across the top of the back of the neck. this is where mating bites are formed.

12. #12Mates

    once a couple or a pack have mating bites they are then connected in such a way to communicate and sense each other's feelings and needs to their mate without words. because of such an intimate connection mating is considered precious, often times couples wont be mates until well into a legal marriage just in case they don't work out. but there isn't any prejudice at whatever stage of a relationship you have mate at. If mates are separated for a long time nothing too bad will happen, mates will usually feel an overwhelming sense of longing, long difficult estrus cycles. A mated beta will experience similar cycles to both alphas and omegas when separated from their mate(s). It’s seen as taboo to go after a claimed or mated individual. If you bother someone who is mated or claimed, it's like making fun of someone’s spouse or partner, their mate(s) will not going be happy about it.

13. #13Scent Blocker

    A product that can mask the scent of an individual as a whole, available as a spray, pill, and patches. pills are most effective, sprays are the least effective.

14. #14Suppressants

    Keys: inhibitors, suppressants, rut suppressants, heat suppressants, cycle suppressants

    anything that blocks cycles fully is heavily regulated because there are long term effects of blocking cycle (illness, the medication losing their effectiveness, mental health effects) Rut inhibitors/rut dampeners exist for alphas, with the medication the rut effects can be dampened with little consequences, the alpha may have a smaller knot, longer refractory period, producing less cum, but that's fairly okay for the most part. however heat inhibitors/heat dampeners do not exist for omegas, for heats the effects of someone taking less then their correct dose of suppressants can cause heats to be painful, they will stop producing slick entirely for the duration of the heat period, their brain stops producing a lot of chemical reactions that are normal there to deal with the pain of the heat, they lose the easy stretchiness they have, all around they're just in pain and more irritable. there is two forms suppressants come in: Injection: Emergency suppressants. once the heat or rut has started to show symptoms, inject it in the arm or leg. It can have some serious side effects such as dizziness, vomiting. It's necessary to not attend school or work after taking suppressants via injection. Pills: Once a day, it's necessary to take them daily. It is said that these don't have any immediate side effects, these are much safer for prolonged use as long as long as there is a pause for one heat or rut at least once every two years.

15. #15Mating (ritual)

    Bonding bites, mating bites, mating marks, bond marks are all name for the same thing, when one party bites the mating gland on the neck (from just below the ears and across the top of the back of the neck) of another party, a mating bite does one thing, provide a way to communicate your feelings and needs to your mate without words. be cause of such an intimate connection of being able to understand your mate on a mental level, mating bites are very permanent and attempting to break a bond can make one or both parties extremely ill, and lead to the gland just being unfunctional from then on as the best possible outcome; chronic illness, a coma, or death as the worst outcome. for a bonding bite to stick it needs to be entirely consensual, otherwise it’s just a really painful bite mark; it can still hurt and cause damage but it’s not permanent.
