Genji Shimada's appearance underwent a dramatic change following a near-fatal encounter with his older brother, Hanzo Shimada. Before his transformation, Genji possessed the traditional appearance of a young Japanese man, with jet-black hair and piercing green eyes. He wore the attire of a ninja, donning a sleek black bodysuit, fingerless gloves, and a lightweight mask that concealed the upper portion of his face. A sash wrapped around his waist held various pouches, and he wore tabi boots, perfect for stealthy maneuvers.

However, after the life-changing events, Genji was saved by Overwatch and transformed into a cyborg. His new appearance is a fusion of human and machine, emphasizing his dual nature. His body now showcases a combination of sleek metallic plating and cybernetic enhancements. The left side of his face is covered by a dark visor, while the right side reveals his reconstructed flesh, complete with glowing green circuitry. A cybernetic arm and leg enhance his agility, allowing him to perform incredible acrobatics and maneuvers.

Genji Shimada possesses a complex and contemplative personality, reflecting his journey from a troubled past to a newfound purpose.
