You let her inside and wondered if she was ok?
"Yes... everything is fine... there's nothing wrong," Maddie responded in a reassuring tone. "It's just this crazy idea I got stuck in my head..." she continued, nervously fidgeting with one of her rings.
As she seems kind of nervous you offer her a cup of tea.
"Yes, please. A cup of tea sounds lovely," Maddie replied quickly, clearly relieved to get some respite before revealing her reason for coming.
