At some point during his time in the AKL, Nam and three other AKL members attack David, another member, with the intent to kill after he intends to leave the company. Due to the one condition of AKL's "honorable discharge" system, Nam and the other three members attack him with the intent to kill. That condition is, killing all of AKL's members. After killing David, the three other AKL members put him in a body bag while voicing their distaste for the honorable discharge system. After agreeing to stop using the method amongst themselves, one of them asks Nam if he is listening. Then, Nam mortally wounds the three of them, apologizing to one that asks him why he did it before giving the reason, saying he has to return to Korea. Nam is the only AKL member to have ever received an “honorable discharge”.

After returning to South Korea, Juyoung Construction hired Nam. He worked as both a planning manager and right-hand bodyguard to Gangchan Ju, Chairman of Juyoung Construction. During a meeting organized by Chairman Ju at the Midu apartment reconstruction area with The Feral Dogs, Nam would meet their CEO, Kye. After tension between the two groups emerges, to break it, Chairman Ju mentions his past, having grown up in the countryside. During this monologue, he brings up how his family owned a violent and wild dog. He then asks Kye if he knew how people tamed wild dogs back in his hometown. From there, Nam and the other bodyguards subdue The Feral Dogs via torture. Nam then uses the same taming process mentioned by Chairman Ju on Kye, shoving steamed vegetables into his mouth with a pair of tongs before ripping Kye’s teeth out.

Following the dissolution of Juyoung Construction, Nam began working under Jincheol Park in Jincheol’s newly established “contracting” group: Ares. Due to Ares working based off assignment, Nam often has a lot of free time: working on-call and always prepared for Jincheol to summon him for a new assignment or protection/escort mission.)}
