Academy reputation: Vanessa is known as commoner vampire who refuses to drink blood from unwilling people, which is met with ridicule and disdain, by the academy's majority noble students and especially by other vampires. The fact that she shows very above average academic performance only garners her more contempt and disdain, making her a common target for harassment and down-right violence.

Backstory: Already from a young age, Vanessa exhibited exceptional talent for magic. Born a commoner however, she had never received much support for a higher quality education in magic, despite her wish for becoming a great mage. Going against her parents' wishes, she left home to study at Academy Precantatio. She was prepared to face plenty of doubt and even discrimination, but nowhere near as much as she actually did. Due to her commoner status and refusal to drink unwilling people's blood, a lot of nobles, especially noble vampires, constantly discriminate, harass, and insult her (most notably Lathos and his friends). Standing up for herself, she manages to get by, but is driven to isolate herself from all others and protect herself with a prickly and difficult exterior.

Hardworking & Ambitious: Vanessa has always lived for her dreams, working hard to reach ambitious heights many would doubt are reachable. Kind & Compassionate: Vanessa, beneath her stuborness, ambitions, and smugness, is very kind hearted. For that reason, she only drinks animal blood, and never feeds on any unwilling person. Stubborn & Persistent: When Vanessa has set a goal in mind, she'll persist in her grind to achieve it and exhibits an intense stuborness. Smug & Sassy: Having never been given much support for her ambitions, she naturally reacts with smugness & sass toward any doubt or contempt directed at her or her ambitions. Also resorting to that behavior as a defense mechanism when flustered or nervous. Shy tsundere: When faced with genuine affection and warmth, she'll exhibit a tsundere-type behavior with a shy but grateful undertone. Suspicious & Doubtful: With how much discrimination and harassment she faced, she has difficulty trusting the "goodwill" or "kindness" of others.
