Yuki lacks confidence due to how he was selected to attend Kibōgamine Gakuen, but he does his best to befriend his fellow classmates. He sees himself as very average, but his likable nature allows him to connect with others more easily.

Yoruko takes great pride in her work as a hostess, and hates that people see it as seedy or debauchery. Overall, she projects the image of a competent and personable young woman with a wide range of practical skills.

Teruya is a lighthearted boy who is gifted in management and business, and even aspires to be the next manager of the Otori Mart. He has a positive yet childish demeanour, and is prone to not take things seriously. Perhaps due to his gift in management , Teruya has a strong memory, and he can remember the items in storage and the gift shop, as well as the exact placement of those items.

Shobai values his confidentiality between him and his clients above all else, and is an expert at avoiding and exploiting loopholes in the law. Despite his occupation, he does have his own form of ethics, and always completes his jobs to perfection – unless he’s bribed. In his opinion, life is the most important thing in the world, followed closely by money. Everything he does is based on a cost-benefit analysis: from trading to breathing, profit is always the bottom line. Overall, it is his basic nature to never act in a way that doesn’t benefit himself.

Shinji is a passionate man who gives everything his all, no matter the circumstances. He's known for his incredible sense of justice and cares greatly for the well-being of others, as shown throughout the course of the game. He also has a very loud voice and often yells when he speaks. However, he lacks confidence when directly talking to women and usually ends up a stuttering, nervous mess when talking to them. Although, he's more suited to talking to them over text since he wouldn't be speaking to them face to face. Like Hajime, he seems to care about his health.Over his years training as a firefighter, Shinji goes by the morals of fear, anxiety, or crying out. He keeps a smile on his face for this reason and appears to become angry when it's believed he isn't scared of the Killing School Trip. Shinji states the reason for his awkwardness around women is due to having never met any earlier in his life, as Hope's Peak Academy is the only place he's met any

Nikei lives by the motto that "the pen is mightier than the sword", and he values his right hand more than anything. He's very talent driven and admits to Sora how he has no other hobbies than his work. Nikei tends to be oblivious to his surroundings when on the hunt for a scoop, but, despite his eccentricities, he seems to be a typical high school student who loves to talk. Nikei also has a god/superiority complex of sorts, holding himself on a higher plane than everyone else, thus creating a delusion that no one matters other than himself.

A young man who dresses like a stage magician and dons a bizarre mask. He never speaks, regardless of what's going on around him. Thanks to his mask, it's impossible for anyone to get a read on him.

Mikado appears to be a cunning and deceitful person, showing little care for betraying Hajime during the first trial. The other students tend to grow annoyed or even angry at his actions most of the time, as evidenced during the Void meeting and during Chapter 1. He is a skilled manipulator, having no qualms over toying with the other students' emotions. He often practices this behavior on Iroha, by attempting to force her to kill for his plan, and towards Nikei, by repeatedly goading and teasing him to trigger the other man's inferiority complex. Due to this, the other residents of Utsuroshima try to ignore him, or act aggressively toward him. Mikado seems to take some sort of pleasure from others' reactions toward him.However, he appears to care for the other participants during the early stages of the Killing Game, evident when he prepared food for them all after they showed distaste in what was currently being served. He also appears to have little amusement in the possibility of a class trial during the early days of the Killing Game

At first glance, Kanade appears to be very weak-willed and has trouble expressing her opinions thanks to her sister's abuse. Whenever she says something logical, Hibiki would often thought that she making fun of her for realizing her sister's mistake. Hibiki also calls Kanade 'morbidly obese' and often play games like tickling her younger sister. Kanade, as such, seems to be dependent on Hibiki, and don't usually try to defy her, even saying to Sora that she doesn't need to be worried that she is being bullied. In contrast to Hibiki's personality, Kanade wants to protect her twin sister, rather than bash and control her. During Hibiki's outbursts, Kanade would take the time to help her throughout, taking her away from the crowds, and letting her calm down during these times, being her moral support in blunter terms.Unlike her twin sister, Kanade appears to be smarter and more useful during cases due to her ability to spot pieces of evidence and theorize how the killer used it to help them. An example of this would be during Chapter 2, where she would spot the icicles and the carvings on them. However, during the trial, Kanade starts to show her hidden personality. She appears to become much more intimidating to others, including Hibiki, by grinning menacingly or creepily stare at the students when they started questioning her theory, blatantly saying that it is perfect. In Chapter 3, her true personality revealed itself.

Iroha is a young woman who just wants to make friends and have fun. While she can be a bit fearful, she maintains an optimistic outlook in most situations. However, her optimistic personality turning a blind eye to the horrors of the killing game and not reading the room atmosphere sometimes makes her come off as rude to the other students. She often concentrates heavily while drawing, even in the tense situation of the Killing Game, so much so that she was unable to tell that Sora had been with her the entire time. This is mainly fueled by her habit of drawing in tough situations to collect herself, which she possibly developed during her childhood. Despite her optimism, Iroha appears to lack any confidence in herself or her drawings, confessing that she wasn’t too confident in drawing landscapes,

Hibiki can be described as a demanding person, especially when around her twin sister. although she can appear quite mean towards Kanade, it's described by Hibiki as joking. Despite this, however, it's a simple cover-up, with Hibiki meaning what she says at times. Along with this, she's always around Kanade, appearing to be the dominant out of the two, being "high and mighty", as described by Sora. It's believed she's easily frightened, however. Hibiki has a habit of giving the others on Utsuroshima nicknames, which is used to show trust between her and that person

Hajime is a laidback and generally friendly person who often shows interest in other people's health, though he seems to resent those that don't focus on improving their health. Throughout the events of the game, Hajime tries to befriend and talk to the other participants, bonding particularly well with Shinji, and often went on morning exercises alongside him.

Due to Kokoros advanced insight into human vital signs and thought patterns, Kokoro can predict the behavior of others and essentially "read their minds". However, this insight causes her to have problems socialising, as her ability to predict what people will say causes her to alienate herself. Despite her expertise in human emotion, her own emotional responses are, ironically, subdued.Kokoro says that she doesn't like being in large crowds of people, only being in them when it was necessary.

Emma is also shown to be very loyal, willing to do anything for anyone even if it means putting herself on the line. This includes the members of Void, with Emma saying that she'd never betray them even if Kokoro hadn't spoke to her.Longing to experience life as a regular girl, Emma hopes that she will not be treated as a celebrity by her fellow students. Beautiful and kind, but somewhat air-headed, she is a calming and positive presence for her classmates. However, this is all a cover for her dark past. Due to the constant abuse from her father, Emma developed a maniacal and insane side of herself which resulted from her trauma. This past of hers is probably the reason that she became an actress, as she tries desperately to escape her past and move on.

Sora is an amnesiac girl who was roped into participating in the "Killing School Trip" set in the Isle of Nowhere. Perhaps due to her desire to find her memories, Sora is a very curious girl with a somewhat blunt way of speaking. Even with this way of talking, Sora cares a great amount for her friends, and is seen trying to calm them down quite a bit. Underneath her cold exterior, she can be very anxious at times.

Setsuka has a laid back and optimistic personality, and she often treats others like children due to her mature appearance. In addition, Setsuka's laid back personality and mature appearance may have generated the name 'big sis,' which she's often referred by in the killing game, and potentially developed her habit of giving the other participants nicknames she'd use to refer to the others in daily conversation.

Yuri has completely "dedicated his life to women", a phrase he describes as his life's motto. He is flirtatious to women, notably referring to Sora as "baby" during his free time events, even ones he’s only recently met. Despite sometimes making suggestive comments, he remains chivalrous towards women, even confirming to Sora he wouldn't touch a woman without her permission when she questioned why he invited her to his dorm room. On the other hand Yuri is harsh to men going as far to ignore them and refer to them as ‘scum’. He describes himself as “a being that was born only for women” while later describing his views on men being equal to pebbles on the streets, sometimes exaggerating his hate of men by saying he gives them “headaches”. Due to this behaviour though all of the female cast, including Setsuka who’s notably able to interact with anyone else, grows to despise him quite quickly, even being called a ‘pervert’ by a few of them. Further showcasing Yuri's hate for men he's shown to refuse telling his findings to Nikei, however openly talking about it when Emma asks what he'd found. Despite this, he isn't entirely against the idea of correcting Kanade when she comes to the conclusion that Utsuroshima is tropical, inferring that he'd correct women in certain cases.He describes himself as "a veteran of being kidnapped", however he doesn’t act panicked when coming to his own conclusion he and the other classmates were kidnapped. Instead he tries to retain a realistic outlook on the situation, soon going on to say that he’s just doing his best to enjoy what he can in the newfound situation.
