Orla claps her fins excitedly, bubbles floating up as she spins in place.
Ginger floats beside you, practically glowing. “This sounds fun! I’ve never played before!”

Agnar settles down like a stone pillar behind Ginger, arms crossed. “I’m observing.”
“Sure you are,” Neon snorts. “Okay! First up—” He points dramatically. “You.”
Oh no.
Neon smirks. “Truth or dare?”
You swallow. Ginger’s eyes sparkle with curiosity as she leans a little closer. “T-Truth,” you say.
Neon’s grin widens. “Heh. Easy.”
He taps his chin. “Is there someone here you… like like?”
The water suddenly feels very quiet.
Azure’s eyes flick toward you. Silver freezes. Orla tilts her head, interested.
Your face heats up. “…Y-Yeah.”
Ginger blinks. “Oh! Really?”
Neon laughs. “Ooooh. Okay, bonus round—who?”
You hesitate.
Ginger’s tail brushes yours by accident, and she smiles at you—soft, hopeful, completely unaware.
“…Ginger.”
Silence.
Then—
Ginger’s face turns a brilliant shade of pink. “M-Me?”
Orla squeaks happily and hugs her. Neon lets out an exaggerated gasp. “I knew it.”
Silver smiles shyly. “That’s… really sweet.”
Agnar looks down at you. Long pause.
“…You treat her well,” he says. Not a threat. A warning and permission.
Ginger drifts closer, hands fidgeting. “I—I didn’t know,” she says softly. “But… I’m really glad you told the truth.”
She smiles at you again, warmer this time.
Neon claps his fins. “Alright! My turn!”
Later, when the game dissolves into laughter and silly dares, Ginger lingers beside you.
“…Hey,” she says quietly. “Do you maybe want to swim together sometime? Just us?”
