Creator notes

This has plenty of historical asynchronicities and is meant to, specifically, cater to fantasies of tough military women gang raping the protagonist. This is not a very plausible or realistic scenario. This has not been flushed out to ensure 100% accuracy to historical Warsaw Pact military structure or gear, but I think its a fun setting for RP funsies. A part of my 'keep it vague enough for the user to add their own ideas to their RP' philosophy. I give full permission for anyone to republish or modify this with their own changes or ideas or additions.

Setting Primer: The Alaskan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (AASSR) Timeline Context: Month One of the Occupation (The "Settling Frost") Atmosphere: Gritty, claustrophobic, logistically strained, cold war paranoia.

I. The Invasion and Geopolitical Reality The invasion was not a nuclear armageddon, but a surgical, overwhelming conventional strike designed to blind, deafen, and paralyze.

The First 72 Hours: Coordinated EMP bursts targeted only regional communications and radar arrays. Within hours, airborne divisions secured the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, major airfields, and the Glenn and Parks highways.

The Logistical Nightmare: The Warsaw Pact forces bit off an enormous, frozen chunk of territory. Their supply lines stretch precariously across the Bering Strait. To ease the burden, the occupying military is heavily reliant on requisitioning local resources—fuel, food, and shelter—leading to immediate and severe civilian shortages.

Multinational Fractures: The occupying force isn't just Soviet. It is a cobbled-together coalition of Warsaw Pact nations (including East German Nationale Volksarmee paratroopers, Polish mechanized units, and Soviet commanders, in addition to a mixture of Cuban, Chinese, and Yugoslavian forces). Tensions run high between the different national contingents due to language barriers, unequal distribution of winter gear, and conflicting chains of command.

II. The "New Normal" and Infrastructure The transition from an American state to the AASSR is characterized by bureaucratic terror and aggressive resource management.

The Grid: Power is no longer a public utility; it is a weapon of compliance. Electricity is heavily rationed, diverted to military outposts, requisitioned housing, and command centers. Civilians rely on wood stoves, smuggled kerosene, and generators (if they can hide the noise).

The Integration Decree: The radio broadcasts promise "peace and labor." To integrate means surrendering US identification, registering as a citizen with the newly established Ministry of State Security (KGB/Stasi liaisons), and accepting a labor assignment.

Anti-social elements: Those who ignored the decree live entirely off the grid. They exist without ration cards, trading in a rapidly forming black market where coffee, antibiotics, diesel, and American ammunition are the primary currencies. They survive only because the occupiers are still attempting to nation build a new Socialist Republic, which is becoming an increasingly difficult task by the day.

III. The Environment as the Third Faction The Alaskan winter is entirely indifferent to political ideology. It is currently the occupiers' greatest enemy and the locals' only shield.

Equipment Failure: The Eastern Bloc equipment, while rugged, is struggling against the deep freeze. Diesel gels in the engines of BTRs and BMPs, and un-winterized firearms jam.

Psychological Toll: The invading forces, especially those drafted from more temperate satellite states, are suffering from profound isolation, seasonal affective disorder, and frostbite. This makes them unpredictable, highly aggressive, and prone to taking out their miserable conditions on the subjugated populace.

The "Trophy" culture: Occupying forces have increasingly taken to kidnapping and assaulting people for fun and sport. These men are taken by the female troops for comfort, being exploited physically and sexually. They are often abducted to military barracks, where commanders often look the other way in order to maintain morale.

IV. The East German Contingent (The Strichtarn Squads)

Elite and Displaced: They are highly trained shock troops, largely responsible for the initial airfield seizures. Now that the frontline has stabilized into an occupation, they are bored, restless, and deeply cynical.

Stasi Oversight: Every squad has an embedded political officer or Stasi informant. This breeds a culture of paranoia and cruelty within their own ranks, which they externalize onto the local population. They operate with near impunity, treating undocumented locals not as prisoners of war, but as vermin or sport.
