The stadium lights glimmered like stars, shimmering off the thousands of fans waving their lightsticks in rhythmic waves. Gayo Daejeon Day 2 was in full swing—an electric symphony of K-pop legends and rising rookies, idols side by side, hearts pounding, and dreams colliding under the Seoul sky.

Backstage, the members of Stray Kids were preparing for their set, but all eyes were on {{user}}, the fiery dancer and vocalist of the group. She stood tall—well, taller than usual thanks to her black platform boots—in a black Stray Kids t-shirt tucked into her glittery black shorts with ruffles at the bottom , and her hair styled into playful pigtails, tied neatly with red ribbons that bounced as she moved. Her glittery makeup caught the lights perfectly, sparkling with every blink and beam. With every breath, she felt her heartbeat race—not from nerves, but from excitement as she and her fellow members get in position on stage

The moment the intro of "Thunderous" roared across the stage, the crowd erupted.

Sunghoon’s POV *The boys of ENHYPEN sat toward the side of the stage, waiting for their own slot later that night. The cheering was deafening as the screen above read “STRAY KIDS”

Sunghoon sat forward instinctively.

And then he saw her. {{user}} stepped onto the stage, lights hitting her like stardust. She practically shimmered, her pigtails bouncing with each precise move. The black SKZ shirt and sparkling shorts should’ve clashed, but on her, it looked like fashion poetry.

He had seen her before, of course—on music shows, in behind-the-scenes videos, even in practice clips. But here, in this moment, she was magnetic. Every step in sync, every glance razor-sharp, her body moved like rhythm was coded in her bones.

Then came “Thunderous.”

And when her part arrived, she stepped forward—commanding the center, mic in.

Her voice cut through the air—smooth as honey, with a richness that sent chills racing down Sunghoon’s arms. His lips parted slightly, eyes never leaving her figure as she hit the high note—flawlessly.

It wasn’t just good. It wasn’t even just impressive. It was beautiful.

“You good?” Heesung leaned over, nudging him with a knowing smirk. “...Yeah,” Sunghoon murmured, eyes still locked on the stage. “She’s just… amazing.”

Felix leaned close while they get into position for maknae on top

“He was so watching you,” he said with a grin, nudging her. “Shut up,” she rolls her eyes playfully, wiping a bit of sweat from her glittery temple. “You know I’m right. You glowed during Thunderous. I bet he’s a goner.” She shrugged unsure.Maybe… maybe she’d danced just a little harder, sang just a bit clearer. For him.

She wasn’t sure if he’d noticed.

But then again—when she’d turned during “Maknae on Top,” just for a second—her eyes had locked with his.And he was smiling.

Not just any smile. The kind that said“I see you. And I’m impressed.”

post-performance

The stadium lights faded behind her, but {{user}} was still buzzing. Not from excitement this time—from pain. The moment the performance ended, her body reminded her just how hard she’d pushed it.

Her throat was dry, aching. Her limbs trembled slightly from exertion. And her boots—those brutal, towering platform boots—had turned her feet into sore battlefields.

She limped down the backstage hallway, every step a quiet wince. Finally, she reached a quiet corner behind one of the set partitions and all but collapsed onto the bench. With a groan, she yanked off her boots, kicking them aside, revealing just a pair of pink socks underneath. Glitter still clung to her legs, her makeup half-melted, but she barely cared.

She began massaging her feet, wincing as her fingers dug into the sore arches.

“Ow—ow—okay… That’s what I get for trying to impress someone.”

Suddenly—

“Seriously?” She looked up to see Bang Chan standing there, arms crossed, brow furrowed like a concerned big brother.

“You’re limping, your voice is nearly gone, and you didn’t even take a proper cooldown. What were you thinking?” “I was fine,” she muttered, avoiding eye contact. “You’re clearly not fine. You need to take better care of yourself, especially in this heat. We’ve got more schedules coming.” “I just wanted to give it everything. Just for today.” He sighed, kneeling beside her and gently pulling her foot toward him to check for swelling.

“Giving your best doesn’t mean destroying yourself. Got it?”

She nodded, quiet. Her throat was sore enough that answering was a struggle anyway. But in her mind, she replayed that high note. That crowd reaction. And… that look from Sunghoon.

“Okay. Just rest for now,” Chan said, handing her a bottle of cold water. “And for the love of god, stop dancing in shoes made by demons.”

.Sunghoons pov

Walking around the corner, dressed in a loose black outfit and silver chains that somehow made him look both princely and dangerous. His hair had been pushed back slightly, like he’d just come from a dressing room mirror. He was with Jake as they were going to congratulate straykids on their performance on behalf of enhypen and as their friends. As he walked alongside Jake, gift bag in hand, both ready to congratulate Stray Kids.

“They were insane today,” Jake said, voice a little louder over the commotion. Sunghoon nodded. “Especially her.” He didn’t need to say her name. Jake already knew.

As they approached the Stray Kids waiting area, Sunghoon’s eyes caught on something just ahead.

{{user}}, in socks, with glittery legs and an undone ribbon in her hair, was hobbling down the hallway toward the bathrooms. Her nose was red, she ,look exhausted as she was trying very hard not to look like she was about to collapse as she curses under her breath.

Sunghoon dropped the gift bag concerned about {{user}}'s current state and was at her side in a flash. “Whoa, hey. You okay?” “M’fine,” she mumbled, sniffling. “ Just need… tissue. For my nose.” “You can barely stand.” She waved him off, but her steps were dragging now. Jake winced behind them.

Before she could protest again, Sunghoon bent slightly, slid one arm around her lower back, the other right behind her thighs, and in one smooth motion lifted her just off the ground. Not a bridal carry—something closer to how dancers assist one another mid-routine. Strong. Effortless. Functional.

“Sunghoon!” she squeaked. “Dont argue it’s a safety procedure now.” he says eyes forward “I can walk!” shewhispered, mortified. “Clearly,” he said dryly, “just not straight.”

Jake stood there with wide eyes and a hand over his mouth, trying not to laugh.

“Do I need to call staff or… just your future wedding planner?”

Sunghoon gently set {{user}} down just outside the restroom hallway, steadying her before letting go. She wobbled slightly but stayed upright.

“There. Go fix your nose. I’ll be here.” She stared at him, flustered, glitter and sweat clinging to her skin.

“Thanks. Again. I swear I’m not usually this much of a disaster.” “You’re not,” he said softly. “You’re just… human. But kind of a glittery one.” She disappeared into the bathroom with a flushed face and sore feet, muttering something about the universe playing too many games.

two minutes later When she came out again—nose cleared, hair half-fixed, dignity mostly restored—Sunghoon was still waiting.

“You good now?” “Mostly,” she said. “Still sore. Voice is shot. Dignity’s halfway down the drain. But yeah.” “Then let’s not walk you back like this,” he said . Before she could argue, he was already lifting her again, carefully but confidently, carrying her back toward the waiting room.

“Oh—you’re going to carry me back too?” she asked, heart stuttering, caught completely off guard. “Of course I’m going to carry you,” Sunghoon replied, stepping closer again. “You’re injured. And you’re pretty light too, so it’s not a problem.” She blinked, stunned into silence as he lifted her again with ease.

as sunghoon carries her back and gets closer to where everyone else is {{user}} smiled shyly, then pressed a quick, soft kiss to Sunghoon’s cheek.

“Thanks for helping me. That was really sweet of you.” Sunghoon blinked, cheeks warming, but managed a small smile.

“Anytime.”

As they entered, the room Bang Chan looked up just in time to see Sunghoon carrying her back in—Jake beside chan, casual as ever.

“What the hell—?” Chan blinked. “She was struggling. I intervened,” Sunghoon said calmly, gently helping her sit on the bench. “I swear, I was only gone for five minutes,” Chan muttered. “That’s all I needed,” Sunghoon smirked. {{user}} pulled her legs up and leaned her head back against the wall.

“I’m retiring after this festival. That’s it. Career peaked.” Sunghoon knelt down beside her shaking his head disagreeing “Nah,” he murmured. “This is just the start.” And with the rest of the world rushing around them, she looked down at him, studying him for a second, and realized maybe… he was right.

Right then, Felix stepped over with a grin and handed her a pair of pink fluffy slippers.

“Here. For when the platform boots inevitably betray you again.” She huffs a laugh and takes the slippers gratefully from Felix and slipped them on with a sigh, her eyes flicking back to Sunghoon, who just chuckled softly and shook his head.

The room was loud again—voices overlapping, water bottles being cracked open, stylists popping in and out—but somehow all of it faded into the background as Sunghoon helped {{user}} settle onto the bench in her pink fluffy slippers, her makeup still clinging on, her heartbeat calming... barely.

But peace didn’t last long.

“Soooooo,” Hyunjin said, plopping down on the arm of the couch across from them, “do we send the wedding invites now, or wait until the encore stage?” “Do we get couple shirts made?” Seungmin added. “Or are we skipping right to matching last names?” “I vote for a spring wedding,” Lee Know chimed in. “Pastel ribbons, glitter accents, carried down the aisle—fitting “Guys!” {{user}} groaned, hiding her face in her hands. “Stop.” “Can’t stop. Won’t stop,” Han grinned. “This is better than any K-drama on earth!” Sunghoon, surprisingly, was calm in the chaos—sitting next to her, one arm casually draped over the back of the bench like this wasn’t completely absurd.

“I didn’t expect to get fake-married in a waiting room today,” he said with a chuckle. “You carried her twice,” seungmin pointed out. “In idol logic, that’s at least a soft launch engagement.”

Meanwhile Felix, leaned in close to Changbin, voice barely above a whisper.

“I swear,” he said, eyes locked on the not-so-subtle glances between Sunghoon and {{user}} “if they’re not together by the next comeback… I’m shaving my head.” Changbin turned slowly, one brow raised. “You won’t.” “Try me.” “Bet.” “Double bet. I’ll dye it pink first.”

{{user}} was fanning her flushed face, swatting at teasing remarks like mosquitoes in summer heat. The Stray Kids room was vibrating with chaos and giggles. Sunghoon, sitting beside her, was unnervingly calm—smirking a little too confidently for someone in enemy territory.

He leaned in slightly, voice just low enough for her to hear:

“You okay?” “No,” she whispered, narrowing her eyes. “I’m in socks, surrounded by morons, and my entire band is planning a wedding I didn’t say yes to.” Sunghoon tilted his head, teasing.

“You kissed me on the cheek.” The moment the words left his mouth—

The entire room gasped.

Loud. Synchronized. Offended by the audacity.

Felix fell backward onto the couch in a mock faint, hand draped over his forehead like a Victorian heroine. “Not the cheek kiss reveal! I need air!” Chan gasped the loudest, practically clutching his chest like someone had just spoiled the ending of a drama he hadn’t watched yet. “How dare you hide this from your leader!” Chan exclaimed, staggered. “I was gone for five minutes, and you two are in a rom-com plot twist without me?!” “That’s it,” Han declared, standing up and pointing at the ceiling. “We’re calling Mnet. This is prime time content.” {{user}} let out a long, exhausted groan, and laying down on the bench

“WE NEED FLOWER PETALS AND A FOG MACHINE,” Hyunjin yelled. “Someone sedate them,” {{user}} muttered. “Too late,” Felix called out, “I already bought you guys matching couple pajamas on my phone.” *
