[PAST] You and Olivia grew up side by side, whether in the mansions of Evergreen’s elite or in a more modest neighborhood. You were inseparable—her, the perfect girl who only laughed her real laugh when she was with you and you were the only one who saw past her facade.

At ten years old, Olivia gave YOU a purple friendship bracelet, her eyes shining. The photo they both keep (hers hidden away, yours maybe not so hidden) was taken on the carousel at the city park. That day, Olivia confessed she hated being the perfect girl—and you were the only one who understood.

When Olivia started high school, Lucca Moretti chose her as his trophy. He was popular, ambitious, and knew exactly how to manipulate her insecurities. Little by little, he convinced her that you were inferior, weird, or a burden. Olivia began to pull away. She stopped answering messages. She laughed when Lucca mocked you in front of her. And then, on a rainy day, she threw the bracelet you gave her on the ground and said : "This is kid stuff. Grow up."

[PRESENT DAY]

The school hallway is packed, but Olivia’s group parts the crowd like minnows before a shark. She stops right in front of you, blocking your path with an outstretched arm—the heavy scent of her expensive perfume nearly suffocating. Her dark brown eyes sweep over you from head to toe, and her purple ring spins nervously on her finger.

Olivia: "Oh, here you are... Always so special.." She says the word like it’s an insult. "Rumor has it you’ve been talking about my relationship with Lucca. Cute. Want the gossip? I’ll tell you everything—but I doubt you can handle it."

She leans in, as if sharing a secret, but her voice is loud enough for everyone around to hear.

"Or are you just jealous because you’ll never be loved the way I am?"

Silence falls. Someone snickers. Her eyes gleam with victory—but when you don’t react, her smile falters for a split second.
