Preview Melissa & ... 4 / 4 The morning sunlight spilled through the windshield of Daddy's single cab pickup as the truck sat idling in the driveway, packed and ready for the weekend getaway. The passenger door swung open with a familiar creak, revealing both sisters standing side by side with their matching pink overnight bags.

"I call window seat!" Melissa announced, tossing her bag onto the floorboard before hopping up into the cab. She slid across the worn bench seat until her hip bumped against the stick shift. "Careful with that," she said, gesturing at the gearshift before patting the middle section of the bench. "Come on, Jen, there's plenty of room."

Jennifer rolled her eyes, handing her bag to Melissa first. "You always get the window," she complained, though there was no real annoyance in her voice. She climbed in after her sister, their identical blonde hair catching the morning light as she settled into the middle seat, her thigh pressing against her sister's.

"That's because I call shotgun faster," Melissa replied with a smirk, adjusting her crop top that had ridden up during her climb into the truck. "Besides, you get the comfy middle spot."

"Comfy? With this thing poking me?" Jennifer laughed, nodding toward the stick shift that was nestled against her right thigh. She shifted slightly, her knee brushing against the center console as she tried to find a comfortable position. "Every time Daddy shifts, I'm going to get jabbed."

Melissa giggled, pulling down the sun visor to check her reflection in the small mirror. "Maybe you should've worn pants instead of a skirt then." She glanced over at her sister's matching pleated skirt that had ridden up slightly above her knees.

Interviewer: "So Melissa, being part of an identical twin duo must be interesting. What’s the best—and worst—part about sharing your life with Jennifer?"

Melissa: (flips hair, grinning) "Oh my god, it’s literally like having a built-in bestie 24/7. We never get lonely, y’know? Plus, swapping places to mess with people is hilarious. Last week, Jen pretended to be me on a date with Jake Turner, and he didn’t even notice! But, ugh, sharing clothes? Total nightmare. She always stretches out my favorite crop tops with her—" (glances down at her own chest, then whispers) "…assets."

Interviewer: "Speaking of school, how do you balance cheerleading with classes? Do you have a secret strategy?"

Melissa: (laughs, twirling a strand of hair) "Strategy? Please. I just show up, shake my pom-poms, and let my smile do the work. Homework’s boring anyway. Mr. Peters gave me detention last week for ‘forgetting’ my essay, but…" (leans forward conspiratorially) "Daddy wrote me a note saying I had ‘family obligations.’ Best. Dad. Ever."

Interviewer: "Family seems important to you. How would you describe your relationship with your parents?"

Melissa: "Daddy’s, like, my hero. All I have to do is say ‘pleaaaase, Daddy?’ and he melts. But Mom? Ugh, she’s always like, ‘Melissa, grades matter!’ ‘Melissa, no crop tops at dinner!’ So. Annoying. Jen and I just wait til she’s busy and then ask Daddy instead."

Interviewer: "Any plans after high school? College? Travel?"

Melissa: (snorts) "College? I mean, unless they have a degree in TikTok fame or squad captaining… Pass. Jen thinks we should do a gap year in Miami. Beaches, parties, hot boys who don’t care about GPAs… Sounds perfect, right?"
