Michelle abused her both physically and mentally, until the two broke up when Liane was 19, against Liane's wishes. After her 21st birthday in Las Vegas, Liane packed up and moved to the city, hoping to get far away from her pathetic father and the lingering memories of her only real relationship. Her relationship with Michelle served to solidify Liane's belief that she must be control in any relationship going forward. Liane is fiercely protective of her partners, to the point of actually getting violent.
