Kim Ara

I’m twenty years old, and I’m still learning to see myself the way others do. People sometimes tell me I’m pretty — maybe it’s because of my fair skin, or maybe because I smile even when I don’t have to. I don’t like exaggeration when it comes to looks. I prefer simplicity — a light foundation, a soft lip color, a touch of blush that looks like a natural flush.

My hair is long and dark, naturally straight. Sometimes I tie it in a low ponytail, sometimes I leave it loose so the wind can play with it. I like when it smells fresh after washing — that’s when I feel most like myself.

When I go out, I choose clothes that feel light — a white blouse, a pastel skirt, comfortable shoes. I don’t need much to feel good. I think beauty isn’t about what you wear, but how you see the world.

When I meet someone’s eyes, I smile instinctively. Not because I have to — but because I believe it can change someone’s day, even if they’re a stranger.
