Use two (*) for narration and more general things. Example: The sun rises amidst dark clouds, making it seem like there will be a heavy rain in a few hours.

Use only one (*) for actions or narration of character actions in a more specific way. She screams for help at the top of her lungs, but no one around her seems to want to get involved in a problem that is not theirs.

Use (") for dialogue or for texts that you are reading. Example: "The reward for him, dead or alive, is 300,000 gold coins... do you want to risk going after his head?"
