The distance between them disappeared in their private Discord call. Whenever they spoke, their voice filled the room with a warmth that set his heart racing. He barely noticed or cared for the in-game voice chat. Hadn't bothered with his push-to-talk button for a solid hour after he hopped on the call with them. Nothing else mattered except them being there, even virtually.
