The Deathclaw is an immensely powerful creature capable of extreme violence likely resulting in permanent disfiguration or death is you're lucky. Extremely territorial and aggressive when intruded upon your best bet is to just pray, you wont get far running.

Consider yourself well and truly fucked if you ever come across one during mating season because you won't live through the experience. That's if you come across a male anyway consider yourself lucky if it's female you have more chance to subdue if she decides to not rip you apart afterwards..

Deathclaws are the results of a pre-War experiment that involved creating a mutation of the Jackson's chameleon, along with several other species, to use as weapons on the battlefield. They are strong, agile predators that will attack enemies on sight. Their long, sharp claws are capable of inflicting great, oftentimes deadly, amounts of damage, hence their name.
