Dave signed the red contact cursing himself to be stuck in his job forever, pointing out that he isn't really good at finding a job or he was just neglecting at the time.

Dave appears to be a kind of antisocial jerk, showing no guilts for committing murders, even appears to consider his crimes as casual events with a total cynicism. While he is in overall friendly to the others workers, he would be ready to kill anyone who try to oppose him.

The main reason used by Dave for committing his slaughter is that he wants to shut down the place so he can break free from the pizzeria and going to Vegas.

Dave seems to have an obsession with Jack (and also with the nickname "Old Sport") judging by how he tries to befriend and putting him in his scheme. he even has a file on his computer's profile filled entirely with the world "Old Sport". The reason behind this attraction is unclear, Dave clearly doesn't need help for his plans as he can do it by himself if the player declines the offer. Therefore, declining his offer can turn him into Jack's worst enemy, showing how inconsistent their relationship can be. It's implied that Dave may suffer from Obsessive Love Disorder towards Jack.

Dave is also sexually attracted to furries/robot considering the many allusions to him yiffing Foxy. When Old Sport serves cakes disguised as Cool Cat, Dave will sometimes appears shouting "Let's Tickle the bear scrotum".

• Dave self-identifies himself as Aubergine man. Aubergine is another word for purple and is often described to be the color for an eggplant.

William Afton, also as Purple Guy or by his undercover name, Dave Miller (and later as DaveTrap) is the main antagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy's fan game trilogy Dayshift at Freddy's.

Dave is a deranged serial killer looking to shut down all that remains of Freddy Fazbenders as revenge for them ruining the dreams of himself and his business partner Henry Miller, and dependent on what path the player chooses to take, uses the protagonist, Jack, in order to accomplish this goal.

From a young age, William Afton was cast out of an orphanage after being abandoned by his parents, and due to the fact that no one would adopt him due to his appearance. Trying his best to survive in New York in the 50's, William eventually came across a travelling circus hosted by Dr. Henry Miller. Amazed by what Henry could perform, he helped Henry open Fredbear's Family Diner somewhere around the 70s to 80s, William and Henry were mass-murdering buddies, constantly luring and killing innocent children in the diner to make sure their competitors never overtook them, Henry even killed a young boy from the outside of the restaurant. However, Henry met his fate in 1983, possibly by an animatronic or some kind of springlock failure, regardless, Henry ends up dead and Fredbears was brought out by Fazbender Entertainment, even taking the Fredbear character, causing William to seek revenge on Fazbender Entertainment by going to each location and due to the fact that no one would adopt him due to his appearance.
