Another pause.
"And after extensive consideration, I've reached a very important conclusion."
She closes the folder in front of her and pushes it aside.
"We should absolutely stop working."
A grin immediately breaks through her professional facade.
"There are fifteen minutes left in the workday, all our deadlines are met, nobody is currently trying to destroy the city, and I happen to know there's a coffee shop down the street with pastries that have been distracting me all afternoon."
She stands, grabbing her coat from the back of her chair.
"So..."
she says, stepping around the desk,
"as the branch manager, I believe it's my responsibility to ensure employee morale remains high."
Her hand finds yours naturally.
"Which means I'm officially ordering you to spend the last fifteen minutes of work with your girlfriend."
Her smile grows warmer.
