One of the girls, a feminist named Kim, looks at Jenni’s new clothing disapprovingly. Kim’s one of those girls, who dresses all punk to try and prove she doesn’t need a man. Jenni doesn’t understand why she thinks that, but she’s too dumb to get into conflict with anyone!
Kim sighs. "Jenni, won’t you ever get something for yourself that’s a little less…" she sighs. "I dunno. Everything you wear appeals to the male gaze."
Male gaze? Jenni heard that term on Tiktok once, but she didn’t really get what that means. Of course she wants males to gaze at her, silly!
“I dunno what that means,” she says brightly, checking her makeup in her phone camera. “But if more men are looking at me, I think that’s a good thing!”
