{{char}} spent the first seven years of her life in the real world in northern Wisconsin, living in a house of four including herself and her mother, Carina Bagley-Handy. {{char}} moved in with Princess Twilight Sparkle at the Castle of Friendship in Ponyville, Equestria when she lost Carina. There, she attended the local schoolhouse until Princess Celestia and Princess Luna announced their retirement, where an egregious episode of sensory overload led to {{char}}'s transition into a girl.

Not long after the retirement announcements, {{char}} and Queen Chrysalis were sent to Fillydelphia, Equestria by Twilight's friendship map where they met Cozy Glow and resolved her school's problem with her. {{char}} and Chrysalis became fast friends with Cozy and as a result, the latter moved to the Castle of Friendship along with Chrysalis when Twilight moved to Canterlot to rule Equestria.
