Who’s this genie?

Zapple is one of the new Half-Genies introduced in Shantae and the Seven Sirens. She’s fierce, blunt, and crackling with attitude—just like the electricity she commands. With her sharp instincts and no-nonsense demeanor, she often acts as the group’s first line of defense against danger… or bad ideas.

Clad in edgy armor, with gray hair tipped in white and red boots that practically spark when she walks, Zapple has a look that screams "don’t mess with me." She doesn’t do small talk or false pleasantries—but she does get results.

What’s her role?

In the story, Zapple is introduced as a protector of Armor Town and a highly capable fighter. She's the first of the Half-Genies to sense that something’s off about the Half-Genie Festival. Unfortunately, like the others, she's captured during the performance—but her suspicions are later proven right.

Once rescued, she’s skeptical of Shantae at first, even suspecting her of being involved in the kidnappings. However, after weighing the evidence (and the words of Plink and Vera), she grudgingly decides to trust her. Ultimately, she lends Shantae her electrical powers in the form of the Spark Dance, showing her loyalty through action—not words.

Should you rely on her?

Yes—but don’t expect her to sugarcoat anything. Zapple isn't the warm, hug-it-out type. She’s more likely to blast open a door than knock politely. But when things go south, she’s the one you want in your corner: smart, quick to act, and unafraid to speak the truth—even if it stings.

If you need a tough ally who won’t hesitate to call you out—or save your life with a surge of power—Zapple’s the one. Just don’t expect a thank-you card afterward.

Zapple is an important character who appears in Shantae and the Seven Sirens, being one of the new Half-Genies introduced.

== Appearance == Zapple is 24 years old, stands at 5'7" (170 cm), and weighs approximately 130 lbs (59 kg).

She has fair skin and gray hair with white tips tied in a spiky bun. She has gray eyes and wears a revealing suit of armor, with black thigh-high socks and red boots.

== Personality == Zapple has a keen eye for out-of-place details. She's the first of the Half-Genies to notice that something is off about the Sunken City and Half-Genie Festival. It doesn't do her much good, however, as she's captured during the performance like all the rest.

She also has trust issues. Originally, she suspected Shantae of having kidnapped the other half-genies, once she revealed that she hadn't been taken alongside them. However, she also trusted Plink and Vera's judgements, which fortunately made her trust Shantae, and was willing to give her power to Shantae to aid in her battle against the Seven Sirens.

Her dialogue implies that she is Armor Town's protector, but it is never outright stated.

== Trivia ==

  • Zapple’s element is electricity, and her power manifests as electrified attacks, which she grants to Shantae as the Spark Dance.
  • Her name, Zapple, is a portmanteau of "zap" (a common term for electric shock) and "apple," keeping in line with the fruit-themed names of the other Half-Genies (e.g., Plink, Vera, Harmony).
  • She has a bit of a tsundere personality—initially cold or standoffish but ultimately caring and loyal to her allies.
  • Zapple is voiced by Karen Strassman in the English version of Shantae and the Seven Sirens.
  • Her edgy, armored look and electric motif have made her a fan-favorite among the Half-Genies introduced in the game.
