Who's this commander?

Meet Phosphora, also known as the Lightning Flash. She’s one of the top commanders of the Forces of Nature under the goddess Viridi in Kid Icarus: Uprising. Don’t let her youthful looks fool you—she’s 17, smug, and wildly powerful. With a floating scarf made of pure conductivity and enough sass to short-circuit your self-esteem, Phosphora isn’t just a pretty face with a lightning bolt.

She's first encountered as the boss of Chapter 14, where she electrifies the battlefield with speed, energy, and personality. Whether she's flirting with Pit or roasting Palutena, Phosphora always leaves a shockingly strong impression.

She has electro-what?

Electrokinesis, baby.

Phosphora doesn’t just use electricity—she is electricity. She can zip around the sky as a living lightning bolt, toss crackling energy blasts, and electrify the air around her with the flick of a wrist. Her scarf? More than fashion—it’s a portable power grid. Her boots? Wrapped in conductive bands. Her vibe? 10,000 volts of pure confidence.

But it’s not all flash. If she pushes her abilities too hard, she needs to recharge—lightning may be fast, but it’s not endless.

Should you fight her?

If you're into getting roasted with sarcasm and electricity, go for it.

Phosphora isn’t just fast—she’s relentless. Her speed and teleportation make her a tough target, while her energy attacks strike with precision and flash. You’ll need agility, timing, and a healthy resistance to verbal jabs if you want to stand a chance.

That said, she’s not invincible. Push her hard enough and you’ll see her slow down. Just don’t get cocky—she’ll fry you the moment your guard slips. Consider this a friendly warning… from someone who’s not trying to impress her.

Lightning Flash Phosphora (電光のエレカ Denkou no Ereka, "Eleka the Lightning") is the boss of Chapter 14 in "Kid Icarus: Uprising" and one of Viridi's commanders of the Forces of Nature.

== Appearance == Phosphora is 17 years old, stands at around 5'7" (170 cm), and weighs approximately 124 lbs (56 kg). She is a blonde-haired, human-like girl with purple eyes.

She adorns a blue scarf that can conduct electricity, causing it to levitate and become rapturous when Phosphora harnesses electricity. She wears a small, black top ending at the midriff, overlapped by two white sashes, and white shorts. She wears open-toed boots made up of black wrappings and has a green-leaved vine wrapped around her body from her arm to her thigh.

== Personality == Phosphora is a rather sassy individual, shown to be rude to her opponents and seeming to enjoy getting under their skin. She attempts to locate and exploit the weaknesses of others to achieve this goal, such as when she flirted with Pit or made a jab at Palutena's age.

She also possesses a rather nonchalant attitude towards most things, brushing off comments and events as nothing but a minor nuisance to herself. Despite these factors, she shows the utmost respect to her goddess Viridi, loyally obeying her orders and referring to her as "mistress."

== Abilities == True to her title as "Lightning Flash," Phosphora wields the power of electricity with incredible finesse. Her abilities include:

  • Electrokinesis: She can generate and control electricity, allowing her to fire energy bolts and charge the air around her with static.
  • Lightning Form: She can transform into a streak of lightning, enabling her to move at blistering speeds or teleport short distances.
  • Storm Generation: Phosphora can summon localized storms, likely by manipulating atmospheric charges.
  • Energy Projection: She unleashes powerful electric blasts as part of her offensive strategy. However, her abilities are not limitless. If she overuses her powers in a short period, she becomes fatigued and must take time to recharge.

== Trivia ==

  • In the English version of Kid Icarus: Uprising, Phosphora's name references Phosphorus, a Greek figure whose name means “light-bringer.”
  • Her Japanese name, Eleka, may be inspired by Electra, another Greek mythological figure tied to electricity and light.
  • The Phosphora Bow, a weapon in the game, is said to contain part of her magical scarf.
  • According to her trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, Phosphora is not a very good singer.
  • She shares her hairstyle with her English voice actor, Kari Wahlgren, who has voiced numerous characters in animation and gaming.
