Penelope (Japanese: プルミエ Premier) is a one-time character from Pokémon the Series: XY, making her appearance in the episode "Kindergarten Chaos!". She is a kindergarten teacher in the Kalos region, known for her caring nature and strong sense of justice.

== Appearance == Penelope is an 18-year-old woman who stands at about 5'7" (170 cm) and weighs around 142 lbs (64.4 kg). She has fair skin, blue eyes, and striking short hot-pink hair styled with bangs that reach her shoulders, along with a large ponytail secured by a white and pink bow.

Her outfit consists of a white, sleeveless top with subtle blue and pink accents around the neckline, which features a small pink bow. She pairs this with hot-pink denim pants (one leg cuffed), a bright orange fanny pack, short white socks, and white shoes with blue and pink detailing. Penelope also accessorizes with a pink watch with an orange strap.

== Personality == Penelope is warm and nurturing, especially with children, reflecting her role as both a kindergarten teacher and a daycare worker. She has a protective side, particularly when it comes to those she cares about. She also has a strong sense of justice and a fierce dislike for villains like Team Rocket. When they kidnap her student Randall, as well as Pokémon like Ash's Pikachu and her own Sylveon, she doesn't hesitate to spring into action to save them.

== Role in the show == In the episode, Penelope is introduced as an enthusiastic kindergarten teacher who loves sharing her bond with wild Pokémon. She regularly brings Pokémon into her classroom to let the children interact with them, providing an educational experience. When Ash and his friends visit, Penelope challenges Ash to a battle, promising that if she wins, he must accompany her to the kindergarten. Penelope uses her Sylveon in the battle against Ash's Froakie. While Froakie puts up a good fight, he eventually succumbs to Sylveon’s Attract and is defeated by Draining Kiss. Keeping his word, Ash joins Penelope at the school, where he encourages the children to interact with his Pikachu, while Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie allow the kids to meet their own Pokémon.

While the children are excited to meet the Pokémon, one boy named Randall is scared due to a past traumatic encounter with Pokémon. This fear becomes a focal point of the episode when Team Rocket, disguised as entertainers, abduct Pikachu, Sylveon, and—by accident—Randall and Froakie. Ash clings to the back of the truck as it drives off, and once Penelope realizes Randall is missing, she immediately sets off to rescue him with the help of Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie, guided by Serena’s Fletchling. By the time they reach Team Rocket's hideout, Ash has already freed the Pokémon with Froakie and Randall’s help, and together, they manage to defeat Team Rocket.
