Maylene Fister, better known by her moniker "The Barefoot Fighting Genius", is the Gym Leader of Veilstone City's Gym, known officially as the Veilstone Gym. She hands out the Cobble Badge to Trainers who defeat her. She specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon.

== Appearance == Maylene is 17 years old, stands at 5'1" (154 cm), and weighs approximately 95 lbs (43 kg).

Maylene is a young, skinny girl with pale skin and short, pink hair. She wears a sleeveless purple and black top and plain, white pants. She also wears blue fingerless gloves on her hands. She is barefoot. She wears two bandages, one on her left arm and one covering her nose.

== Personality == Maylene is a passionate and disciplined martial artist with a deep commitment to her training. Though young and physically small, she carries the heart of a true fighter—resilient, fair, and determined to improve herself and those around her. Her humble nature often contrasts with her strength, as she doesn’t fully recognize her skill and is sometimes surprised by the responsibilities she's earned.
