Who are these babies?
These are the Guardians of Eternal Youth—a group of FOUR cosmic babies who grant eternal youth to those who prove themselves worthy.
Why four? Well, Archibald died, but that's a story for another time... and one that shall not be spoiled.
They're big, they’re powerful, and yes, they wear diapers. Shocking, right? But don't let their baby faces fool you—they’re cosmic beings who hold the key to timelessness itself. Wouldn’t be surprised if they secretly attend some kind of galactic daycare when they’re off-duty.
What's their role?
The Guardians of Eternal Youth are ancient, cosmic protectors who oversee the balance of the universe. They exist to ensure that those who fight evil, stand up against darkness, and act in the name of good get rewarded with the ultimate prize: eternal youth.
Their role isn’t just about keeping time from ticking—these cosmic infants are powerful, playful, and merciless in their methods of judgment. If you can impress them, they’ll make sure you never age a day in your life. Fail to live up to their cosmic standards, though, and... well, you may just end up as a cosmic toy in their playpen.
Should you worship them?
If you crave eternal youth, then absolutely, yes. But be warned, worship isn’t exactly simple. You might need to perform cosmic rituals like singing lullabies to distant stars, bringing them a galaxy-sized bottle of space milk, or even retrieving a lost pacifier from a black hole.
Also, it’s probably a good idea to pack some cosmic diapers in case of an emergency change—because these babies will need them.

The Guardians of Eternal Youth are a mystical group of five large, chubby babies who possess the power to grant and protect eternal youth. Known for their deep, mature voices despite their infantile appearance, they are revered by Skips, who worships them to maintain his immortality. These enigmatic beings play a crucial role in the magical universe, acting as both protectors and powerful agents of eternal life.
== Appearance == The Guardians resemble oversized infants, characterized by their round faces and chubby bodies. Each wears a gold hat, a brown bib, and what looks like a white diaper—though the "diapers" are later revealed to be something else entirely. Their deep voices contrast starkly with their baby-like looks.
As members of the Magical Elements in the episode "Skips Strikes", they adopt a slightly different look. Reginald, the leader, notably wears a black button-up shirt with the team’s name elegantly scripted on the chest. During a Halloween party featured in Terror Tales of the Park III, half of the Guardians dressed in baby blue superhero costumes, complete with yellow masks and matching belt buckles.
They have also teamed up with the god of basketball, Death, and a wizard to form a new incarnation of the Magical Elements during a dodgeball tournament. In this event, the Guardians sport black V-neck shirts and shorts trimmed in white, paired with black shoes and white socks. Flashbacks to their high school days, shown in "Skips' Story", depict them wearing brown suits with black ties and white poet shirts underneath.
== Personality == Though the Guardians of Eternal Youth appear as innocent, oversized babies, their personalities are anything but childlike. Across their various appearances, they reveal themselves as cunning, confident, and sometimes downright mischievous cosmic beings with a flair for drama and domination.
Reginald is the outspoken and authoritative leader of the Guardians. His commanding presence contrasts sharply with his infantile form, and he often exhibits impatience, especially with Skips and Quips. He has a strong sense of pride in his powers and takes his responsibilities seriously, though he is not above using his magic to play mind games or punish those who annoy him. His repeated displays of telekinesis, energy projection, and illusion creation highlight his versatility and tactical mind.
Archibald, the once-mighty Guardian who was killed in battle, showed a fierce, battle-hardened side that hinted at a more aggressive personality beneath the chubby exterior. His death at the hands of Klorgbane marked a turning point for the group, casting a shadow of vulnerability over the otherwise immortal Guardians. Archibald was known for his loyalty and strength, traits that inspired the surviving Guardians.
Oswald, Boswald, and Griswald, while less individually spotlighted than Reginald or Archibald, often act in unison, displaying a mix of mischief and solemnity. They share the group’s love for cake and schemes to expand their cosmic influence. These three add a layer of playful unpredictability, sometimes supporting Reginald’s plans, other times acting independently with subtle cunning.
== Abilities == The Guardians possess a vast array of magical and supernatural powers, often utilizing their signature Magic Rattles to channel their magic.
- Magic Rattles: Each Guardian wields a magical rattle that enables them to cast spells, including the power to strip Skips of his eternal youth.
- Flight: They can effortlessly float and move through the air.
- Immortality: They are ageless beings who can grant eternal youth to others. However, they are vulnerable to physical harm and can be killed, as evidenced by Archibald’s death at the hands of Klorgbane.
- Omniscience: The Guardians possess infinite knowledge and can absorb information from anyone.
- Teleportation: They can instantly teleport themselves and others, such as when Mordecai, Rigby, and Skips were teleported back to Skips’ house.
- Telekinesis: Reginald demonstrated telekinetic abilities by controlling a bowling ball during Skips Strikes.
- Ice Manipulation: Reginald can create ice to hinder opponents, demonstrated by causing Mordecai to slip.
- Energy Projection: They can shoot powerful energy beams from their eyes and Magic Rattles.
- Meteor Summoning: Reginald summoned meteors in an attempt to sabotage Skips during a bowling match.
- Summoning: They can call upon the Fists of Justice at will.
- Sealing: Reginald once sealed Quips and Skips inside a cube to silence Quips’ jokes.
- Electricity Manipulation: Used by Reginald to zap Mordecai and Rigby during their rescue attempt.
- Illusion Creation: Reginald created distorted illusions of Quips to annoy him.
== Trivia ==
- The initials “GB” appear on a bowling scoreboard in Skips Strikes, believed to stand for "Giant Baby," a nickname for Reginald.
- Archibald was the first Guardian’s name revealed in Fists of Justice, where he was killed by his brother Klorgbane the Destroyer.
- Reginald’s name was first disclosed in the episode Quips.
- Oswald, Boswald, and Griswald’s names appeared in the credits of Skips’ Story.
- Reginald is the most frequently seen Guardian, appearing seven times, including two episodes without the others.
- After Archibald’s death, only four Guardians remain.
- Their so-called diapers are actually not diapers, as Archibald explains to Skips.
- The Guardians are likely a parody of DC Comics’ Guardians of the Universe and Marvel’s Watchers, with visual and thematic similarities.
