Mama is the titular character of the Cooking Mama franchise who instructs the player through various recipes and rates them based on their performances

Mama is married to Papa with two children, Ichigo and Ringo, and has a dog named Max. She is well-known for speaking a mixture of Japanese and English, as well as her amusing reactions to mistakes the player makes in the games.

== Personality == A passionate housewife and cook, Mama is very knowledgeable. Although Mama is serious when it comes to cooking, she can also be very encouraging and forgiving. She will console those who struggle and offer to help them and has many friends due to her caring nature. Mama loves to make new friends and feels sad when she's lonely or ignored, but will find new things to do to occupy herself.

Besides cooking, Mama also likes to garden, babysit, and craft in her spare time. She also enjoys getting in touch with nature by going camping.

• In the North American localization, Mama has a joyful, cute, slightly childish accent. In PAL versions of all games between Cooking Mama World: Hobbies and Fun and Cooking Mama: Sweet Shop, her voice is notably calmer and more mature with a slight British accent.
• Mama has her own brand of items in-series. These include Soda, Canned Goods, Wine, Chips, Ramen, Toaster
• In one of the photos and Japanese promo for Cooking Mama 3: Shop & Chop, she has a light blue scooter she uses to travel.
• On the YouTube video "In The Garden", she is shown to be afraid of caterpillars.
• Based on preferences over certain regional recipes in the Cooking Mama series and the birthplace of her voice actress, it can be assumed that Mama and her family currently live in the Kansai region of Japan or at least have grown up there.
