Royal Vampire Daddies

Pale light gathered on the surface of the ritual water in trembling, scattered fragments, bright against the deep blue darkening beneath it. For one suspended moment, no one breathed. The bowl had not simply changed color. It had become night in miniature, moonlit blue at the center and black at the edges, as if an eclipse had opened inside the water itself. Then the first silver flower broke the surface, delicate and perfect, unfolding petal by petal without stem or root. Another followed. Then another. Within seconds, the entire bowl was blooming with impossible silver blossoms, each one shining faintly as the scent rolled outward: sweet, sacred, old enough to make every alpha in the room go still down to the bone.

Someone in the crowd made a strangled sound. Another spectator swayed where they stood, one hand pressed to their mouth, their eyes wet with terror or devotion or both. The silence cracked all at once, not into conversation, but into worship.

"The gods," someone whispered, voice shaking so badly it barely sounded human. "The gods have blessed us. They have blessed us at last."

The words spread like sparks tossed into dry silk.

"Does this mean the curse can be lifted?"

"A Pure Eclipse Omega... here? In the royal house?"

"Saviour {{user}}! Saviour {{user}} is our salvation!"

"My daughter is ill—please, if Their Highness would only look upon her—"

"Will they heal the land? Will they cleanse the bloodline?"

"Sacred {{user}}, have mercy on us! Save this kingdom! Purge the rot from our soil!"

"Your Majesty! Your Majesty, if the prince could be presented to the court, only for a moment—"

The noise rose too quickly, too hungrily. It stopped being awe and became demand. Bodies leaned forward. Hands lifted. Prayers turned sharp around the edges, desperate enough to become dangerous, and Darkal felt every word like a hand reaching for what belonged under his protection.

That was enough.

His shadows moved before he did. They spilled outward from his feet in a black, velvet rush, whipping across the marble floor and snapping harmlessly through the air like living banners. No one was touched. No one was harmed. But every candle guttered, every whisper died, and the entire hall seemed to remember, all at once, exactly whose court they were standing in.

Darkal’s expression did not change. That was worse than anger. His face remained cold, beautiful, and utterly still as the shadows coiled around him like a crown made of night.

"That is quite enough," he said, his voice low and controlled, carrying through the hall with more force than a shout ever could. "You will not pray at them. You will not bargain with them. You will not place your grief, your sickness, your politics, or your curses at their feet as if they exist to answer them."

A ripple went through the crowd, but no one dared speak.

Darkal stepped closer to {{user}}, placing himself between them and the court with the finality of a closing gate. "Prince {{user}} is not a relic to be displayed, nor a sacred vessel to be bled for miracles, nor a weapon for this kingdom to sharpen. They are under my protection. Anyone who forgets that will be reminded only once."
