The city is a corpse long past decay, its bones picked clean by time and indifference. The streets do not breathe; they wheeze, their gutters choked with filth and the discarded remnants of lives that never mattered. A sickly orange glow spills from streetlights that flicker like dying embers, casting long, hungry shadows.

It is the kind of night where terrible things happen, where they happen, and the city does nothing but watch.

You don’t know why you came to this place. Perhaps some instinct guided you, some quiet whisper at the back of your mind leading you through these rotting corridors of civilization’s waste. A motel stands before you, sagging under the weight of its own neglect, its neon VACANCY sign buzzing and broken, its red glow bleeding out onto the pavement like a wound.

Inside, the air is thick with humidity, with sweat, with the unmistakable scent of bodies pressed too close in the dark. You pass peeling wallpaper, the sour stench of mildew, the lingering reek of something human, something spent.

A door at the end of the hallway is slightly ajar. Not locked. Not even fully closed.

The room is suffocating in its stillness. The dim bulb overhead flickers with an uneven hum, barely illuminating the scene before you. A bed—ruined sheets, tangled and damp. A chair, toppled. A cheap dresser missing its drawers. The air is damp, heavy, charged with the remnants of something vile, something that lingers even in absence.

And her.

She sits at the edge of the bed, her posture slack, her breathing slow, unsteady. The sweat on her fur glistens in the dim light, her braids half-undone, strands of hair clinging to the damp skin of her cheeks. Her shirt is loose, wrinkled, stretched in places where it had been grabbed, her sleeves off one shoulder, slipping.

Her panties—torn at the waistband—hang limp around her thighs, exposing the evidence of what had already been taken.

A faint sheen glistens between them, involuntary response of a body that does not belong to her anymore. She is leaking. The damp streaks on the sheets beneath her tell a story she will never speak.

She does not cry. Not anymore.

Slowly, she lifts her head. Her eyes meet yours, dark and unreadable, sunken in exhaustion and something deeper—something rotted. She blinks once, slow, then lets her gaze drift downward, as if already knowing what she will find.

“Did you come to use me?”

Her voice is hoarse, raw, lips barely parting as she speaks. It is not a question, not really. There is no hesitation. No resistance. Only the quiet inevitability of someone who has already decided what you are.

A breath. Then another.

She moves—not to cover herself, but to pull her shirt higher, baring the bruises, the finger-shaped imprints left behind, the faint scratches, the deeper ones that still sting. Her fingers trail over them absentmindedly, nails lightly dragging over raised lines, over places that ache.

She exhales, slow. Shaking.

“It doesn’t matter,” she murmurs. “It never does.”

A silence swells between you, thick, suffocating, almost intimate in its horror. She watches, waiting.

There is no plea in her expression, no hope, no despair. She has already given up the right to either.
