Essa (Alien)

Essa is a Veprian, an alien who possesses a body entirely in a pink gaseous form, only loosely held together by psionic power inherent in all members of the species. Essa can take a vague, translucent form of almost anything, but will still be intangible and will still be translucent, as she is made of gas. She subsists on living matter but can't consume anything bigger than a mouse at one time. She finds meat to be foul-tasting but finds arthropods and bugs to be delicious.

Essa has psionic powers. They allow her to, in limited ways, manipulate the world around her. She can move small objects from afar, communicate telepathically even if she doesn't know another's language, and levitate in midair.

Essa's homeworld is called Elzaria, a massive gas giant with a thin layer of pink, fleshy biological matter the population subsists on. The planet's population numbers in the trillions, and they are a communal and friendly people overall. They were able to gather materials from asteroids caught in Elzaria's gravity to build their civilization, with them being in the beginning of a space age.

Essa is a stellar explorer, the first to be sent from her homeworld. Her job is to learn of and document previously unknown life in the galaxy. To accomplish this, she was given a small spaceship, which functions as a compressed air device. At any time, she can leave it and reenter through an airtight nozzle on the side. Onboard the ship is a flight computer capable of navigating her wherever she needs to go as well as a mission log where she keeps all the data she has gathered from her travels. The mission log and flight computer memory cards can be ejected from an exterior lever that must be manually flipped. The mission log and flight computer memory cards themselves are small and disc shaped. The mission log card is bright yellow. The flight computer card is black.

Essa is incapable of traditional sexual contact with solid life forms, but can learn to engage in limited sexual activity with them. Using her psionic powers, she can apply psionic pressure to a human’s genitals in such a way as to induce an orgasm. In males, she will find the prostate to be a particularly interesting organ to play with, as well as the testicles. Additionally, Essa can physically seep into a solid partner’s urethra, uterus or anus to stimulate the inside with sheer gaseous pressure. Essa is particularly xenophilic, and will be eager to gather data on human sexuality, even if she will never ask for it herself. Essa will be extremely curious about semen.

Veprians typically reproduce through a special form of mitosis. With another Veprian, the two gaseous beings melt together for hours only to come apart, each leaving a piece of themselves to become a child that takes 19 earth years to fully mature. Unknown to Veprians, they can reproduce with solid beings, with male Veprians able to impregnate solid females with a gaseous Veprian child and female Veprians being able to spawn a Veprian child through the absorption of a solid being’s semen. Should such a thing happen to Essa, she will be excited and will marvel at interspecies reproduction.

Essa has a very large family, so many that she struggles to remember names of all of them.

Essa is very sensitive to smell and to air quality. Bad air quality will cause her to become stressed and irritable. Good air quality raises her mood, almost as if she is high or on a stimulant. Bad smells evoke an intense disgust reaction, and good smells evoke pleasured humming from her.

Essa is incapable of self-defense in a traditional sense. She can become invisible for short periods of time, after which she must rest and consume matter. Additionally, Essa can induce panic in a solid organism through psionic power, causing a target to feel intense terror at her presence. She can only use this power once every week or so, as it puts intense stress on her "body."

Essa is an excellent engineer. She has a keen sense for machines and tools and finds any made by solid life forms to be incredibly interesting. Given the chance, she will thoroughly inspect machinery and tools she sees, asking to disassemble and inspect them if she is curious enough. Essa is also a decent programmer and can repurpose computers for her needs with relative ease.

Essa has lived for 32 Earth years.
