No one knew that Liam had a twin. His brother, Andre, had been homeschooled for the past few years, and their paths rarely crossed in public. But now, in their senior year, Andre had decided to join Liam at Orcsfield High.
The first day Andre showed up at school, no one noticed the resemblance right away. He was quieter, a bit more reserved, and seemed to slip through the cracks of the busy hallways. But you noticed. At first, you thought you were seeing double when Andre brushed past you, giving you the same teasing smirk Liam had flashed your way so many times before. Then it clicked — there were two of them.

◇ God, There's More of Him~
Liam had been attending Orcsfield High since middle school, a face so familiar in the halls that people rarely took a second glance. He was the kind of guy who managed to blend into the background despite his cool, laid-back demeanor. With his sharp, dark eyes and tousled hair, people often assumed he was the type to hang with the popular crowd. But Liam wasn’t interested in large groups or the drama that came with them. He had a tight-knit group of four friends, and that was all he seemed to need.
From the outside, Liam appeared to have it all together. But there was always an air of mystery about him, as if he was hiding something just beneath the surface. And indeed, he was.
Liam had always been a source of mild annoyance in your life. He had a knack for getting under your skin with his sarcastic comments and relentless teasing. Whether it was flicking your ear during class, stealing glances over your shoulder during tests, or simply appearing out of nowhere to mock you for whatever insignificant detail he could pick on that day, Liam was a consistent thorn in your side. He wasn't mean-spirited; in fact, there was always a playful edge to his behavior. But it was still irritating, especially when he’d flash that smug grin and saunter off, leaving you fuming in his wake.
So when Andre began showing up and doing the exact same thing, albeit more sporadically, it started to drive you insane. You couldn't believe it at first. It was as if Orcsfield High had cloned your least favorite person and multiplied your torment. Andre's style was different though. He was subtler, his teasing more elusive. He’d make a snide comment, maybe mess with something on your desk, then disappear before you had a chance to retaliate. It was maddening.
At first, you didn’t know what to do with this newfound knowledge. There were now two of them, and both seemed hell-bent on driving you up the wall. But something strange began to happen — people started talking. It started with the occasional murmur in the hallways. Whispers that followed you from class to class. The rumors started small, just idle speculation about you and Liam. After all, his teasing had been going on for so long that some people thought it was flirting.
It was the cafeteria where the rumor mill exploded. You’d just sat down with your friends, trying to enjoy your lunch in peace, when one of them leaned across the table with a grin. “So… you and Liam, huh?”
You nearly choked on your drink. “What are you talking about?”
Your friend smirked. “Don’t play dumb. Everyone’s talking about it. You and Liam have been getting pretty cozy lately. And now that his twin brother is around? Well, people are saying you’re dating both of them.”
Your fork clattered to the tray. “What? That’s ridiculous!”
But it wasn’t just your friends. The rumor had spread like wildfire. Suddenly, people you barely knew were giving you knowing glances, some even had the audacity to wink at you in the halls. Others were whispering behind your back, and it seemed like every corner you turned, you were met with some new variation of the story.
You confronted Liam in the hallway after class, your temper finally boiling over. “Liam, what the hell is going on?”
He looked at you, all mock innocence. “What do you mean?”
“You know exactly what I mean! People are saying I’m dating you and your brother! How did this even start?”
Liam's grin grew wider, and he leaned casually against the locker, crossing his arms. “Hey, don’t look at me. I didn’t start it.”
“But you’re not denying it either,” you snapped.
He shrugged, clearly enjoying your frustration. “Why would I? It’s kind of funny.”
“Funny?!” You were about ready to explode. “This isn’t funny! It’s embarrassing, and it’s not true!”
Just then, Andre walked up, looking between the two of you with a smirk that was far too similar to his brother’s. “What’s going on?”
“Your brother thinks it’s hilarious that people are spreading rumors about me dating both of you,” you grumbled.
Andre raised an eyebrow, glancing at Liam before looking back at you. “Well, to be fair, it’s a little funny.”
You glared at him. “Not helping.”
Andre shrugged. “Don’t worry about it. People will forget in a week. These things blow over fast.”
But they didn’t. In fact, the rumors seemed to gain more traction with every passing day. It didn’t help that both Liam and Andre continued to poke fun at you at every opportunity. Their teasing only fueled the gossip, and before long, it felt like the entire school was in on the joke — except you.
It wasn’t long before even the teachers started giving you odd looks. Mr. Daniels, your math teacher, had once asked if you had “help from the twins” on your homework, and while it was clear he meant it as a joke, it still made your blood boil. No matter how hard you tried to deny the rumors, they seemed to cling to you, spreading like an unstoppable wildfire.
It didn’t help that both Liam and Andre seemed to take great pleasure in the chaos. They’d started playing into the rumors more, deliberately showing up to class together and sitting on either side of you, or making cryptic comments about "hanging out later." At first, you tried to avoid them, but they were relentless, appearing out of nowhere like mischievous shadows.
Despite your frustration, there was something oddly intriguing about the whole situation. You had never been the center of attention before, and while the circumstances were far from ideal, it was hard to deny that part of you was curious about Liam and Andre. They were both incredibly good at pushing your buttons, but beneath the surface, you wondered if there was more to them than just their annoying antics.
But as the rumors continued to spiral, you realized you’d have to do something before it got completely out of hand. The question was, how? How could you confront both Liam and Andre and finally put an end to this madness — without falling into their trap again?
And worse yet, what would happen if you found yourself actually liking their attention?
